Lokal, local to Waterloo region, had a reputable taxi business.
It provides cheaper and higher quality service than uber or Lyft. Yet a lot of people do not use it. Why? The app is horrible. People look for seamless experience. In order to compete with those giants, you need to make the app not act and look like it is from 2010.
Just invest a few thousand into upgrading this app. It will bring in more customers. Partner with plentiful students around the area.

N freakin verification code

It doesn’t send verification code either to mobile or mail. I cannot login. Complete crap.
Map interface is confusing and error prone
The service is fine but the app is terrible. The map won’t let you see details about your destination and it’s really easy to select the wrong address. Best way is to search the destination on Google maps, then copy paste the address into Lokal but even that’s not always effective.
Not easy to use
I installed the app twice and I couldn’t use it .
The app wants me to mark the destination on the map I think and I can’t do that so I couldn’t book a trip.

Great app except...
I take the cab fairly regularly but I’m not sure the customer support is really there. I always accept the quoted price plus tip but when there is an error on their end they have no way of refunding you or crediting your account.

Upfront Just for show
Drivers promoting upfront but I never get a cab everytime Im using it while i get in less than a minute when its on meter.

Try try upfront booking crashes without fail every time.
OK app - lacks polish
App works - was able to book a taxi at a cheaper rate than Uber, no issues or phone validation or anything there.
But the app is very clunky, feels like a prototype. Text is hard to read because of the colour, everything is slow, UI feels like it was designed by someone who doesn’t know how iPhone apps should work.

Broken
Every time I try to use the app it is broken. This has been going on for months. Today it won't even load, just sits at the Lokal first screen. This makes me so sad as I would much rather support our local taxi drivers over Uber.
Decent app, bad service
The app itself isn't so bad, I mean it could use a lot more polishing yet, but it isn't the real issue here. The taxi service itself is terrible, and I'm not sure if that is because of the app or not. I often find myself waiting for a driver to even accept my ride AFTER I was supposed to arrive at my destination (this is for bookings that are done the night before). Save yourself the trouble and just use Uber.

Almost missed my train
I thought I had booked a ride for 6:35am. Apparently all I did was tell the app to start looking for a ride at 6:35am. By 6:37 the app was still “searching” for a car for me. I ended up having to book a last-minute uber which barely got me to the train station in time. Absolute garbage.
Updates?
Please update to support newer devices resolution. iPhone X has been out over a year and still doesn’t fit screen. Something small that pushes people to Uber they update there app right away 🙁

This is a wonderful idea... if it worked... was sent the verification code and entered it but it doesn’t work. Then if you select resend verification code it doesn’t work. Talk about a complete failure. If you guys want to help taxi drivers get fares vs Uber you’re completely failing at it
