Had Potential (I hope)

It seems amazing at first - the formatting, the style of the app with having daily questions to answer, only being able to share a photo here and a pre-formatted customizable post there. I was ecstatic at first. I’ve met a cool person or two, however the cons…

It’s incredibly buggy, opens and works as intended 1 out of every 5-7 tries. Setting my preferred age range for folks to meet is ineffective as I’ve consistently been paired with folks well outside my preferred age range as well as with men who seem to be using the app like a more mindful Tind3r, unfortunately.

If you upload a photo you didn't mean to, presently there’s no option for deletion - only replacing the photo. The features when it comes to profile customization are extremely buggy and lacklustre at best.

It feels like it was inspired in part by the amazing app Agape (not paid, just a happy customer) but without the seamless functionality.

Overall, about 2 weeks in, I’ve blocked several guys, one of whom persistently tried asking about explicit topics and was clearly using the app inappropriately and is still on there.

1-2/5 but leaning 1 due to non-responsive support.

Problems loading

I really love this app. I would love to use it religiously, every day, responding to the people I have met virtually. Screen freezes so often, though, I am frustrated.
(UPDATE): Quickly responsive developers, contacted me and offered to help me get through whatever is going on, finding whatever bugs, and resolving the problem. On my iPad it seems to have resolved itself. I will contact the developers for further information solving the problem on my iPhone. I am very impressed with the service offered by the developers.

Sense of community but be vigilant

I had my issue resolved but yes as the other reviewer on here stated, beware and vigilant of who you’re talking to and keep it on this platform. Another tip, if you talking to them about meeting and then they suddenly say they cannot and ask you for money, don’t do it. Stick to the people on here from places here in the US that can verify where they’re from. I mean anyone can say they’re based here but it can be easy to tell who is and isn’t by asking probing questions. Do not let their stories of widow living or working outside the US fool you. There are nice people on here, truly there are. Just please be discretionary and wise. The questions are good reflections and the groups are nice. It’s a fun distraction. Just wish they had things like this for in-person.

Great idea, scammers and fake accounts ruin it

So I’ve been using this app for the past couple of weeks and enjoy answering the questions and seeing the community support each other with positivity! Such a great idea if you are tired of all the negativity on other social media platforms.

However, this app is riddled with scammers and fake accounts because it hasn’t implemented the same restrictions as other apps. If you post in either the mental health club or breakups and moving on club you will get flooded with messages from scammers playing all the classic ‘pray on people’s vulnerabilities’ scams.

They really need a verification system and only verified users can message and leave comments on posts.

Acceptable social media

During the pandemic, social media became all the rage. Particularly “tick-tock” when using social media, I quickly became enraged. I came for pictures of peoples lunch. They came with personal agendas. I want to community. They wanted disunity. This social media app I really like because I feel like it’s calm and you get to journal. They’re like-minded people in groups, expressing memories, mindfulness, togetherness, and Joy! this is not your run-of-the-mill social media app. I think it’s more friendly. It has a better crowd of people. Briefly, they did have a problem with spam, but they really nip that in the bud. I’m quite proud of them for that. Currently, there are no ads and I hope it stays that way. I really enjoy this app

Very pleasantly surprised!

This is a wonderful app that allows you to socialize with other people based on shared values and interests. I love the fact that it isn’t like other social media where it becomes a popularly contest. Other people can’t see how many likes you receive on your posts or how many friends you have. There are daily prompts for each of the club categories that you participate in, so you don’t have to come up with your own ideas all the time. Other people respond too and you get to see what they say after you respond to the prompt.

The only things I will say are that I would appreciate more options in the “about me” section. In regards to value and lifestyle choices. Also it would be great to have more clubs readily available.

Besides that, I’ve had several genuine encounters with other people and managed to make a few acquaintances and friendships long distance. I live in a very remote area and it has been very difficult for me to meet new people. Especially those who share similar thought processes and ideals.
Longwalks has made a huge difference in my loneliness, which I am greatly appreciative for.

So if you’re like me- searching for genuine connections without the pressure of dating sites or popularity contests- this is the perfect app. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Great App! But a lot of sign in - technical issues!

Alright, let me start off by saying the App is great! It’s amazing due to alot of kind people on there as well as the interactive prompts to aid in conversation starters. However the app has often crashed for me and has had issues while signing in. Very recently as of May 21, 2023…..I cannot sign in to my own account! This was very troubling since I have no issues signing in to my other apps. I tried deleting and uninstalling, refreshing my cache, turning my phone off and on again. And signing in to the app using either my phone or email as prompted. Neither methods have been successful! It’s a shame since I really like this app, if I cannot sign into it, I may just delete the app all together. (if it was not for this, the app rating would be an easy 5 stars for me!)

Really like the app so far. Here are just some suggestions.

I really like this app. It’s different then other social media sites and I don’t feel so bad going on it. Although, there are a few things I personally would like to see in the future. For some reason my age is showing up on my profile. I would like to get rid of my age and I can’t figure out how. Also I would like to edit my general location. It would be nice to have the option of sharing your state, large cities near you, etc. instead of your exact location. I can’t wait to see what the future updates bring to this app :)

I JUST started browsing through and clicking on questions. I’m enjoying answering them. It is really cool to see others answer the same question and have a chance to jump in conversation. As I said I like it, I think. As I am literally just starting to click through the app. I really like the whole idea of it. So far great!

Update: I found myself really liking this app. I love the end of the week journal. I tried sending feedback but it said there was issues with my email.

New member and I’m forever grateful

I stumbled upon this app when I was looking around on my phone for apps to help me write more and better. I’m a woman who writes books and poems and all that so finding this app, I didn’t know I’d find such a supportive and open minded community. It’s not just a writing app. Everyday they release new prompts. You can’t ever be bored with this app. I’m on it everyday, it replaces my Instagram and some of my other socials because it’s just so real and honest. Everyone’s not afraid to share their opinions and candor. I can’t get enough. I recommend this to every single human being because this app has challenged me and forced me to open up about things I’ve never even told the people in my life yet.

I love that Longwalks fosters kindness, positivity and good will. It’s what social media has lacked, and I’m happy to finally see a space that encourages it.

I would like to see more opportunities to connect with people on this app. It’s created in a way that encourages self expression rather than connection. Prompts or opportunities to reach out and befriend others on the app would be wonderful.

Amazing for stress/anxiety relief; always helps clear my mind

Whenever I feel my heart or thoughts begin to race I open this app. Just venting to randoms online really does help a lot. I wish there were some ways to make the notifications more customizable but that’s small potatoes. If you suffer from the burden of poor mental health, this is the app for you my friend.

Longwalks review

This social media isn’t addicting and the community is super friendly. However it’s really not that interesting imo, it doesn’t have very much interesting content like comedy reels or groups that share very niche hobbies. However I really appreciate the lack of ads and the amazingly supportive community. 8/10 would definitely recommend but it’s not going to be the new best thing.

I have been using the Longwalks community app for the last few months and I’m thrilled to recommend this app to anyone of all ages seeking to virtual connect with people who truly care. My daughter Alexandra introduced me to this app and I’ve personally found it inspiring, therapeutic, energetic, entertaining and supportive in every aspect of my life. I had never considered virtual friendships to be so strong with the intense desire to look forward to each day’s new group comments, while expanding your mind and engaging with people at the same time. This is a social platform wherein people respect each other, views are shared, topics vary from mental health to music, writing, being vulnerable to parenting and so much more. One of a kind app!

This is app is simplistic, yet productive. Sometimes, I only take 2 minutes to answer the daily question, but it sparks a question in me that I’ve never really asked my self. The only thing else that could be improved is the amount of features. Maybe the developers can add more. Incredible app, though! I’ve been telling all my family and friends about it.

Not the same

Honestly I’m devastated that they took the conversation feature off this app. I know there’s a whole separate app for it now but it doesn’t have the texting feature anymore, instead forcing you to talk about the choice of topic in person. Me and my friend would use this app to pass the time, connect with each other and we don’t even live near each other. I can’t see myself using this app anymore because that was the sole reason why I kept the app, pretty sure my friend won’t be using it anymore either but although I’m sure a lot of other people would appreciate it for what it is.

The Most Needed Shift in Social Media

I cannot express how grateful I am for this new community. Social Media had become this unbelievably divisive monstrosity…until LongWalks came along and turned that ALL around. Now you can find communities of people, who thru the daily prompts share their heart and soul in a way that is at once uplifting and inspiring! Great app, but latest update broke some of what made it great

I’ve been using Longwalks with my closest friends for a while now. My longest streak was over a year before I went on an internet-less vacation. The daily prompts are great for connecting and keeping up with my closest friends and regularly facilitate deep conversations.

However, the new update has some flaws. First off, the biggest disappointment is the loss of “Share More”. I liked the ability to talk with my friends outside of the daily prompt and I’ve really missed it since the update went live. I feel like it’s an oversight since the update announcement clearly shows the Share More option on the page still. I really hope it comes back soon.

There are also little bits broken here and there. If I type the word “More” in a comment, it changes to a function to expand the comment. This seems off. The home page also used to show the full threads when someone responds to a comment. Now I’ll look at the homepage and see really disjointed conversations. I’m hoping fixes are coming soon.

Best Self-Care & Journaling App

Longwalks is one of the best apps for self-care and journaling. It was an app that I had used religiously during the beginning of the pandemic. I love how it summarizes my week and allows me to see how I have answered the questions each day in a weekly format. At some point, as most people, I’ve abandoned the app and became busy with life.
I never truly forgot or gave up on Longwalks, but rather came back and started again. The prompt provide some deep thinking and require you to really analyze some of your thoughts and feelings.
You end up becoming vulnerable and having to answer some questions that may cause you to feel slightly uncomfortable. This took me out of my comfort zone.
The introduction of communities where I’m able to share ideas and thoughts with like-minded people is a great feature. It allows me to see what other people of similar interests are also doing as well as giving them ideas and inspiration with what I am doing as well. Longwalks is an app that I can truly say helps me take a few minutes each day and really work on my self-care.
