What's New in Lore
1.4.1
September 14, 2026
A fresh new app icon. Walks. Build a walking route through the tours on the map, and keep it in your Library for later. The tours list on the map is easier to handle: a short swipe down puts it away, and the pill brings it back. Discover and your Library load straight into place instead of flashing, and Closest no longer reshuffles while you scroll. Swipe down anywhere on Now Playing to minimise it. Photos keep their shape instead of being stretched. Tours can now be made about things no map has heard of. When nothing matches what you photographed, the tour is pinned where you were standing and named after your subject, instead of being attached to the nearest place Google happens to know. Better sense of where a tour belongs. Photographs taken in a park, on a beach or in a quarter now take their name from that place while staying pinned where the photo was taken, so the tour is about the right thing and sits in the right spot. Making a tour now shows real progress instead of a spinner — the photo being worked on, what each step is doing, and how long is left. The recenter button on the map is no longer hidden behind the player bar, and recentring now lands close enough to see individual tours rather than one cluster on top of you. Tapping the place name on a playing tour takes you to its pin on the map. Errors say what happened in plain language instead of showing internal codes. Tours you create are now credited to your name. The purchase screen shows everything on offer, including what a trip pass unlocks, rather than hiding it until you already hold one.
