Overall an Enjoyable Read

This story was overall a good read. It was easy to tell that several writers were involved in the creation of this story. Some of the in-game books were more detailed than others along with the characters. There are plenty of romance choices but, I never felt to emotionally attached to any of them. The stat system is easy to build up and has a slight effect on the story.

While I wish there was more character development and a chance to actually get more attached to the characters in this game, it is a good read to pass time. It will last you through several replays and is a game that can easily provide some entertainment.

Don't mention the narratology

An engaging game with strong writing. Hosted Games does fun things with tropes and this game is full of them. The opportunity for replay seems large as one can play to trope or against it and change how the character reacts.

And it is interesting having multiple authors; like an IF supergroup.

Worth the money, but needs some work

I've played a lot of the Choice Of games, and this one was good but I have played better. It was very long and had a great concept, but it almost seemed at points like the author realised maybe it was too long and they rushed to push it through. Within the main story you have 7 different stories to play through, and if you mess up you have to replay through until you're down to the last two or three, at which point the stories 'merge' into a bit of a chaotic uncontrolled mess really. There's never any clarification about the backstory, any explanation about why things are happening, except for one throwaway line about it maybe being a book itself and therefore not needing further clarification. Some of the stories were well written, but others were rushed and I noted more errors in them. In 'The Queen's Child' there was a woman in black but with frequent references to her being a woman in red. There were a couple of points where the coding seemed to error and despite playing it to completion a couple of times in one game and again in a second game, 'The Queen's Child' never disappeared from the list and the final sequence never recognised that I had completed that story. Also I noted multiple spelling errors throughout certain stories, again suggesting a rushed completion.
For the cost it was worth it and as I said, the concept was good and it was enjoyable enough. However I think that it was too ambitious, and probably could have been improved by having only 3 side stories and a final merged completion. Sadly I can't give a 5 star rating, but I think it's earned the 4.
