Great storyline, horrible money grab
The storyline and characters are genuinely so good, and I’m really enjoying the game. But the monetization completely takes away from the experience. You’re given choices to build relationships with characters, but then you need gems to reach the bond levels required to actually bring those characters with you during the main storyline. If you don’t have enough gems, you’re forced to go alone and miss the opportunity.
It’s frustrating because the game gives you just enough premium currency to make you think you can play without spending, but not enough to actually keep up with the bond requirements. I shouldn’t have to spend real money just to experience the story with the character I’ve been building a relationship with.
I love the game. I just wish it didn’t feel like every meaningful part of the experience was designed to make me spend money.
