Scam

No rem alarm or sleep date this app is not work or it is way to buggy it had one job but did not do it please don’t spend money on this app

Response from developer

Hello, This app is not a sleep date scheduler. Kindly read the instructions for use, and or please contact our support team if you have any questions on how to get started. Thank you.

Waiting for update

I was so elated when I saw that there’s finally an app that can wake you up during REM sleep that I actually bought an Apple Watch just because of this. But sadly, it doesn’t work because of the sync issue.

The instructions are very vague and I’ve looked high and low on YouTube, but there’s no instructions That are very thorough on how to use this. I did end up figuring it out and I did get it to sync at the same time By leaving my watch on always on display.
But somehow, when I sleep, it turns off.

I did buy the subscription, but I regret it.

One they should have a YouTube video explaining very thoroughly how to use it and how to keep it synced .

My phone is 16 max Pro and my watch is the ultra 2 so you would think with the latest model it should run smoothly.

If this gets fixed, I will change my rating to five stars happily . I’m still hopeful.

Update 2/14/205 Hello DrMEEH - We have updated our in-app set up guide with short videos showing how to update iOS and watchOS device settings to use Lucidly. The videos will be available in our next release, version 1.15.1. Thank you once again for taking the time to provide feedback and suggestions. Thank you, DrMEEH for taking the time to provide a review. When experiencing sync issues between the watch and iOS device, you can attempt to reset the connection between the watch and phone by toggling (disable and reenable) Bluetooth on the phone and reconnecting the watch. In addition, we recommend disabling the "Always On" setting on the watch as not all required Lucidly features are available when this setting is enabled. Both the phone and watch applications must be visible and on the foreground in order to begin a session. If your wrists move and the watch application hides or dims before a session has commenced, the phone application will indicate that the "Watch app must be on foreground" and the power button will be disabled on the phone app. This behavior is normal. Please note when Always On is disabled (recommended), it is expected behavior for the Watch to dim after a session has started. The watch will continue to monitor health readings during the session, while the iOS application will dim to the lowest setting. For more information, please refer to the in-app support document which can be found in Menu > Manuals > Tips and Suggestions > "Set Up" and "Starting Sessions" to review recommended iOS and WatchOS configuration for successfully running Lucidly sessions. Please try to make the changes above, and if you are still experiencing setup problems, we encourage you to email our support team (Available in-app at Menu > Contact & Share > Contact Support). We hope the above helps, and again please do not hesitate to send us an email should you run into further issues. Thank you again for the taking the time to provide a review, and for trying the application.

Better than expected

I bought the premium plan and I have 4 - 5 more dreams than i normally do (2). Very impressive stuff.

Sessions kept being interrupted

The science on how this works is already a bit shaky but I thought I would give it a shot anyways and paid the subscription cost. But the app kept getting interrupted so I never got it to work while I slept. 1 star

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to review. It is important to ensure your iOS device is configured for use with Lucidly night time sessions (silencing notifications and alerts as they can and will disrupt sessions - please reference instructions for use & additional manuals). We encourage users to review configurations and settings under Menu > Manuals > Tips & Suggestions. For additional readers, please note that the application comes with a 7 day free trial and subscriptions are not charged to your account during this period. If you are experiencing difficulties with configuration and settings during your 7 day free trial, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team to help troubleshoot.

Top App

Works great! Here are my tips for using it

I have had this app installed for about a week, and have spent a lot of time working with it. It works great, you just have to know how to use it. It does exactly what it says it will, and it's the ONLY app for an Apple Watch/iPhone that can do what it does. The app uses health readings to evaluate for REM sleep in real time! This is exactly what you want for Lucid Dreaming attempts. However, you MUST use it correctly for it to work. It's not the developer's fault that the following is required, it's just the way it is, and I'm thankful he has done what is necessary to give us this great app to use.

Before trying to use the app for the first time, I recommend opening the Lucidly app on your iPhone, going to the "Customize" tab, and clicking on the "i" box in the top left to read about all the settings and understand them. You will spend the first few days using this app tweaking the settings to find the right Haptic response and alert time to get your attention while dreaming without waking you up, or to wake you up if you're doing WBTB, etc.

Now, here is how to use the app:

First, personal watch settings:
I would recommend setting your Apple watch to not wake on wrist raise, so it doesn't light up all night long every time your roll over or move your hand, etc. These are personal settings that are really up to you. I also dim my watch screen and turn off crown roll wake up.

Second, Sleep Focus:
You need to have Sleep Focus running while using the Lucidly app. Apple's sleep tracking is finicky, and this part is your responsibility. You must learn how to use your own devices. For me personally, rather than setting a sleep schedule, I like to turn it on manually just before I lay down. But this must be done FIRST, before starting the Lucidly app. However you want to deal with running Apple's Sleep Tracking data is up to you, but you have to have Sleep Focus on.

Third, open the Lucidly app on both your Apple Watch and your iPhone at the same time. THIS PART IS CRUCIAL. You must have them both in the foreground, then click the start button on the Lucidly app on the iPhone, and then you CANNOT OPEN ANYTHING ELSE! You also MUST NOT TURN OFF YOUR IPHONE SCREEN! Leave it on all night long. The iPhone screen will automatically dim after a few seconds on it's own. When I get up to use the bathroom, I take the iPhone with me so it doesn't loose connection with the watch. This step may not be completely necessary, but I'm not taking any chances, because it all requires so much perfection to work properly, and when you care to do it right, it does work perfectly. After adjusting the Threshold after a few nights of sleep, I've got it down to a success rate of around 90% accuracy of alerting me during an REM, and not during other stages of sleep. It works very good.

Enjoy, and happy dreaming!

Thank you kindly for taking the time to provide a review. Lucidly has a simple interface, however there are complex behind the scenes functionality. We encourage users to read the Instructions For Use carefully (Menu > Manuals > Instructions), and contact our support team if there are any questions regarding setup, settings & optimal configurations. Lucidly can be used and will work well without Apple Sleep (we use our own proprietary AI for determining REM in real-time). However, we do encourage users to run sessions with Sleep enabled in order to compare Lucidly’s predictions (and adjust settings as needed) with Apple’s calculated sleep stages. Thanks again for trying out the application. We're ecstatic to hear results have been great!

Fantastic App

I have no idea why this app has not exploded. When I track my REM in health, it fits perfect with the AI wrist notifications in my watch. The only issue is the latest update won’t let me view my analytics. It crashes the program. Keep up the great work and looking forward to this small fix.

Only watch app with REM notification

It works. I would like the time to be bigger on the face of the app so I don’t have to look at my phone .
The sessions interrupt sometimes because it seems like my watch face gets switched while I am asleep if I bump it. But keep it up it’s the best app out there now for reliable REM notifications to help you realise you are dreaming!

Too buggy

It is hit or miss if the software will keep working. I get it all setup, pulse light on face of watch is going and app on phone is running, then I wake up in the morning and it’s off. Check the logs to see an error soon after I went to bed.

Also, it could really use a daytime reality check feature. Nothing crazy complicated, but just the option for random notifications to check if you’re dreaming. Seems stupid I need to use a separate app for that at this subscription price.

Thank you for the review and feedback. Please contact support, and or reference our in-app support FAQ regarding settings and events that may disrupt sessions. Connection errors should immediately end the session and prompt an error message on both the iOS and watchOS devices.

Works well when you play with the setting!

I’ve been using this app for about 2 or so weeks now. At first I though it was straight trash. Then I played around with the haptic alarm length, delay, and used “theater mode” on my watch to prevent any accidental turn offs. It works wonderfully now!!

It definitely wakes me up mid dream during the latter part of my sleep cycle. This has improved dream recall significantly. I’ve still not had a lucid dream yet, but I do fee closer to that goal and I do feel this does accurately wake you up during REM cycles.

I’ve had no issues with exercise data being recorded as I saw in other reviews. Sleep recording on the Health app also seems to be entirely unaffected by using this app.

Thank you for trying out the application. One of the goals is to expose as many controls as possible to end users, so that users can experiment and adjust settings as needed. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions, and or just to give us updates regarding your experience. We would be tremendously appreciative of any additional feedback or thoughts for improvements! Please keep an eye out for version 1.10.0 for even more controls and new features!

Want to like but it’s too buggy

I want to like this app so bad. I’m signed up for a subscription and everything, but it just doesn’t do what it says it does. The watch app and the phone app will not stay connected to each other. Once the watch dims the phone app will say that the watch app needs to be in the foreground. Well it is, but the screen on the watch is going to dim after a while, no matter what you have set in settings (it’s just how the watch works) and as soon as the screen dims the phone app loses connection like it can’t see the watch app anymore. I’ve restarted both devices multiple times and Bluetooth is definitely working, so I don’t know what else to do, but I’m definitely canceling my subscription until this works the way it’s supposed to. Update: uninstalling and reinstalling the app on the watch seems to have fixed the connection issue. However I still sometimes get an alert about it not being able to write to the health app and to check my Bluetooth. When this happens I have to restart my watch and it works again. Hopefully these bugs will get sorted out soon.

Second update: the developer response was useless. I’ve already done things the way he describes to do them and the apps will NOT stay connected. I’m not stupid and know how to follow instructions. Blaming the user for your app’s problems is not a good business strategy.

The Divine Sage, Lucidly requires both the iOS and watchOS applications to be visible at the same time on the devices in order enable certain operations. If the watch application dims, certain features cannot be activated, and the user will get the message “The watch app must be on the foreground.” The inability to start sessions when the watch application hides is not a bug, nor is it indicative of connection problems. Our initial response provided a suggestion for how to keep the watch application awake longer when starting sessions (max is 70s). Once a session is started, the watch application will dim and the session will continue. You may refer to our in-app support link for an explanation of this app specific requirement, and or feel free to email our support team if there are additional questions. We hope this clarifies current application functionality and intended user experience. --- Thank you for the review and feedback. In order to start a session on Lucidly, both the iOS and Lucidly watch applications have to be on the foreground at the same time. When both applications (Watch and iOS) are on the foreground and in sync, a power button on the iOS application is enabled. At this point, you may begin by pressing the power button. If the Lucidly watch application goes into background before you start a session, the power button on the iOS application will be disabled, and you will receive the message “The watch app must be on the foreground”. You may keep the Lucidly watch application on the foreground and awake for an extended period of time (70 seconds) by tapping on the watch screen while the application is on the foreground. Additionally, you may adjust the application wake duration by enabling in watch Settings > Display & Brightness > Wake Duration > Wake for 70 seconds. Alerts related to inaccessible health data are typically a result of either not granting read and write access to health data to the application. If you are able to start a session and this message appears, please ensure you have granted health access to the application, and or attempt to start a new session. Thank you for trying out the application, and again, we're sorry that you are experiencing connection issues.

subscription model 👎🏻

The developer might find that a subscription model allows for a lower entry point into their technology, but I for one have too many of these siphoning off money on a monthly basis. Everything is a subscription. This might make sense for developers but it’s represents a death by thousand cuts to lots of users’ available funds, and at this point in the bleed, I’m just not willing to pay a monthly fee for a judiciously delivered vibration to my wrist.

Thank you for trying out the application and taking the time to provide a review. While we understand there is subscription fatigue, subscriptions can help lower the financial entry for many users. Our principal goal is to improve upon available solutions in the LD space, reduce financial entry of innovative technologies, and expand accessibility to this very unique and tremendous state of awareness. Your subscriptions directly helps us continue to develop and improve this product. Thank you once again for trying out the application, and we hope you reconsider your position on subscriptions. Please feel free to email our support link if you have any additional questions.

Okay, but doesn’t run long enough to work

I wish this had more options. It only allows you to have a 270 minute session. I can’t remember my dreams when I use this app. But it does issue alerts. I am having trouble getting the settings right but I’m still trying and hopeful. It would really help me if I could extend its detection to the whole night. That’s when I lucid dream the best, carrying from rem cycle to rem cycle.

Thank you for trying out the application, and for taking the time to provide a review and feedback. Our next release (version 1.8.0) will include an adjustable “delay” setting specifically to allow users to target later and longer REM cycles for detection and alerts. The delayed feature will extend sessions by up to 270 minutes (total of 540 minutes). This version is currently in beta and should be out shortly, so please stay tuned. Additionally, please feel free to email us if you have any questions regarding settings, and or, just to give us an update regarding your experience. We would be tremendously appreciative of any additional feedback, and or additional thoughts for improvements! Again, thank you for trying us out!

unübersichtlich

verstehe nicht wie das funktionieren soll

Ok

It’s ok but doesn’t always work and priced too high for what it does.

Not Worth Subscription

The app writes to your health data so you end up will your rings fully filled every morning. When you change the settings it stops working. It constantly asks for you to reconnect the watch when the watch never lost connection. This happened so much I gave up on trying to use it. The screen is literally white, leading to a super bright phone in the middle of the night. It requires you that you leave the app open on your phone when you fall asleep - why? Other sleep tracking apps don’t require this. Those are just the issues. There are many ways this app could improve in terms of optimizations and UX.

Response from developer

Thank you for the review and feedback. We are sorry that you were not able to get the application to work and had a negative experience. It does not sound like you were able to test the primary feature of this application, which is the induction of lucid dreaming by haptic signaling during REM detected sleep phase. It appears you were experiencing connection issues between watchOS and iOS. In order to establish this connection and commence a session using Lucidly, both applications need to be on the foreground. Once a session begins, the watchOS application goes on background mode, and the iOS application dims to the lowest setting available on iOS. Upon completion of the session, both the iOS and watchOS applications automatically turn off. The reason the application remains dimmed on the iOS device is because we are analyzing real-time vitals collected by watchOS sensors in order to successfully trigger haptic signaling at the correct sleep phase. This is very different to how other sleep tracking applications work (i.e., they do not perform the analysis real-time. We are more akin to a live work-out application in this regard), and it is a unique and novel approach to promoting lucid dreaming. We are not aware of any other application that presently does this. Additionally, it is worth noting that even though we are using artificial intelligence for real-time analysis, REM inference and sleep phase prediction is still prone to error. As documented in the application description, Lucidly writes back to your health kit, and read and write permissions are required for the application to function. The application will not work if this feature is disabled, and you will need to re-grant permissions to enable functionality. If you do not wish to see this data reflected on your health kit, you are free to remove it at any time and still use the application. Again, we thank you for your feedback and sincerely apologize the application did not meet your expectations. We hope this clarifies questions and resolves some of the functionality issues experienced, and that you are able to try the application again and test its primary feature.
