Lucky indeed!
I’ve never written a review of an app before, but Lucky Sweater is unlike any other social app I’ve experienced before. It feels akin to the glory days of the internet, before it became a complete cesspool. So many kind people with whom you can share closets.
PLEASE READ before using the app
After almost a month of going back and forth with their “customer service” i sent my babaa sweater and never received the trade I traded for. They didn’t help me at all! They said “we’re sorry we’d like to offer you 3 months free of our app” not ok! The worst part is I haven’t gotten my sweater back and am left with nothing.

Lucky Sweater is a dating app for your closet. It’s the most fun someone can have online. It is amazing, community building, circular economy in action, environmental goodness, and the sweetness of humanity. Swap clothes that don’t fit for craft supplies, wall art, a gift for a friend, or clothes that do fit!

lucky sweater *literally* changed my life
i downloaded this app because i love getting creative with what i wear, and swapping seemed like a fun and cost-effective way to add new things to my closet while passing on pieces that no longer worked for me. what i didn’t imagine was how radically the community i found on lucky sweater would change my life. i’ve made lifelong friends here—i’m talking “flying 2,000 miles to meet in-person” friends. when i feel overwhelmed by how bleak the world is, i open lucky sweater to be reminded of all we have to live for and fight for. this feels like the one remaining place on the internet that hasn’t been touched by the slimy fingers of capitalism. LS is a life raft in a sea of things that don’t make sense.

The best app on my phone
I love the concept of Lucky Sweater, but it is the community that really gives me hope for the future of humanity. Being able to have a supportive digital space around sharing clothing, from handmade items to small makers helps not only the direct users, but the small business ecosystem. I will always be a sustainer!

LS took me a bit to get the hang of but now it itches the scratch for buying new clothes. I love the vibe of people who participate & appreciate the alternative/ anti-consumer aspect!
My favorite social media
I’ve been on Lucky Sweater for two years now (with a paid subscriber for most of that time). Thanks to the swapping portion I’ve reduced my total closet by half, but what is left is things I love and actually wear! Thanks to the app as a whole (messaging and trading with people, posting and interacting with fit pics, posting and interacting with discussion questions) I’ve found community and friends and inspiration, new brands to support or search for secondhand, and a renewed love of gifting. I especially love the support of artists, with the ability to sell your own art throughout the month (other types of items can only be sold one weekend a month).

Hands down my favorite app on my phone. Truly the best internet space I’ve ever been a part of. Swapping clothes? Mending advice? OOTD pics? Fun style challenges and prompts? Dressing like birds for the hell of it? We have it all! Easily the best monthly subscription I’ve ever had in the history of my life into eternity.
On what other app can you find a community mode helpful, thoughtful, intentional, uplifting, and kind? The answer is: you can’t. Because it’s happening right here, every day. It’s so beautiful! And FUN! Lucky Sweater not only revived my wardrobe, but also my heart. May this app live forever and ever amen.

When I say Lucky Sweater has changed my life, I am not kidding. I have traded with the kindest ppl to build the intentional secondhand closet of my dreams. This is nothing like Poshmark or Depop, this is a place for ppl who care about quality and style to share their closets with each other and CONNECT over clothes and their deep meanings in our lives. There’s truly nothing else like it out there. I am a proud paying member and have saved so much money on clothes since I switched to LS for new to me items.

“Trial” vs actual app
I was using the app for a while and then suddenly it said u could only be apart of 2 communities. I planned to sell/swap some of my stuff but it fits in more than 2 categories so now I can’t. The trial should just be the free option, without all of the features the app is hard to navigate. I can’t even save my sizes because they don’t let you save searches unless you pay $70 a year. That’s just not realistic for most people.

You don’t need a subscription to use the core of the app. We give all new users a free Sustainer trial in their first week so they can explore everything the app offers -- including some extra features like saved searches and quick filters. But the app is designed to stay fully usable without paying. The Sustainer membership helps support our tiny team while keeping Lucky Sweater ad-free, data-safe, and centered on community instead of transactions. I’m a sustainer and this app brings so much joy to my life. The community is so positive, it’s so exciting to get things in the mail, and somehow even more exciting to know clothing I’ve treasured but no longer wear has found a new home.

I’ve had such a wonderful time swapping unused items from my closet with other people on Lucky Sweater. It’s a fantastic way to reduce my spending while making connections with people (and refreshing my wardrobe of course)! One of the best apps I’ve ever tried
I’ve been trading items from my closet for almost a month now and I’ve traded 15 items so far! It’s been so much fun giving unused pieces a new life and getting to try new brands and styles. I also love the discussions people post on the app, as well as getting inspired by other users’ outfits.

This app has saved my wallet and refreshed my style
I love the community that is on Lucky Sweater! Thanks to this app and the community of people who are on it, I’ve refreshed my closet on a very very limited budget, and I even joined a no buy/low buy challenge that has saved my wallet (and my savings) big time. There are different types of communities on here and more are launching so you can trade not only slow fashion brands but handmade/me-made items and materials, too. Trading across the groups is very fun, and it increases the ability for people to acquire slow fashion items that they may otherwise not have the means to access (it has certainly been true for me.) The founders also respond directly to questions and comments regularly, and it really shows that they care about what they are building.
