About

Keep an instrument notebook you can trust. Record measurements, remember service work, compare reference-string tension and carry your library between devices with complete backups. YOUR INSTRUMENT LIBRARY Create profiles with photos, scale length, nut width, radius, tuning and string or course count. Record setup sessions with action, relief, fractional string gauges, wound/plain construction, intonation and notes. Keep service entries with the currency actually used; totals stay separate by currency. Older amounts without a saved currency are clearly marked instead of guessed. REVIEW ON YOUR TERMS See when you last recorded a setup and choose your own review date. The app does not diagnose an instrument from its record age or invent a service deadline. Review dates are shown inside the app; they do not schedule notifications. REFERENCE STRING COMPARISONS Model theoretical tension with named Ernie Ball reference products and published rounded unit weights. Electric, acoustic, four-string bass and classical reference configurations are included. Classical models use nylon trebles and silver nylon wound basses. Keep a baseline, change the scale, tuning or individual reference strings, and share the before-and-after calculation. The calculator models one full-length string per listed pitch. It does not rate playability, string strength or neck safety, and diameter alone does not identify another manufacturer's string. The app links to the source guide and shows its formula and assumptions. PORTABLE RECORDS Prepare a complete JSON backup including photos, identifiers, setup measurements, service currencies, notes and chosen review dates. Restore adds missing instruments, skips identical records and cancels conflicting imports without overwriting your current library. Backups support up to 30 MB, 300 instruments and 20,000 setup/service entries. Earlier export-only files omitted data and cannot be restored automatically. TOOLS AT THE BENCH • Share illustrated setup cards with your measurements and notes. • Calculate equal-tempered fret positions from a scale length. • Look up open pitches, MIDI notes and frequencies. • Explore full-width capo and uniform transposition changes. • Choose length and force units, including millimeters, thou, lbf, kgf and newtons. Start empty with your own instruments or explicitly add labeled fictional examples. Existing records are preserved when upgrading. No subscription, account, ads or analytics. Records stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them. Files destinations and external support/reference links may use a network. iPhone and native iPad layouts. All features included with one purchase.
