About
A mirror with light you can shape. Lux turns your iPhone or iPad screen into a ring light for selfies and round videos, and helps you plan where to place light for portraits, calls and video.
A MIRROR WITH SCREEN LIGHT
Check your look in a full-screen mirror, with a frame or ring of screen light around the camera image.
• Pause the mirror without saving a photo. Inspect the image at 2× or 4×; this enlarges the preview, not the camera lens.
• Adjust brightness, warmth and width in a compact panel. Choose neutral, warm, cool, pink, lilac or blue light.
• Save favorite light settings under your own names and use them again.
• Match the light: ask for suggested screen brightness, warmth and width from the camera. See the reason and confidence, then apply, keep yours or undo.
PHOTO, VIDEO AND A TELEPROMPTER
Switch from Mirror to Photo or Video in one tap. Use a frame or ring without changing the shape of your saved file.
• Round videos up to 1 minute; regular videos up to 3 minutes.
• Round photos save as PNG with a transparent background. Round videos save as square clips up to 720×720 with a circle on black.
• Choose whether to save photos and videos mirrored.
• Read your own text from the video teleprompter. Its text does not appear in the recording.
• Save to Photos or share your finished photo or video.
KNOW WHERE TO PLACE THE LIGHT
Prepare a vlog, interview, portrait, product shot, video call or makeup setup. Add a photo from the camera position, or answer a few questions when you have no photo.
The lighting coach considers the light already present and offers a plan with numbered photo markers, a top view and practical steps. Tell Lux how many screens you can use as lights to adapt the instructions. Turn this screen into a suggested light, or save its color and brightness as a Studio scene.
MORE WAYS TO SHAPE LIGHT
Softbox, ring light, color gradients, window and strip shapes; candle and TV-style lighting effects; light painting; colors from a photo; a color wheel and HEX; favorite colors and a night light with a sleep timer.
Pair nearby iPhones and iPads running Lux with a code over your local network. The remote controls their light settings, not their camera shutter.
PHOTO ANALYSIS ON YOUR DEVICE
Photo analysis runs on the device. You choose what to save or share. On iPhone and iPad with at least 8 GB of RAM, the built-in Qwen3.5-2B model can add offline visual AI refinement to the lighting coach when enough free memory is available. Other supported devices still get basic photo-based analysis. No separate model download is needed.
Lux takes about 1.8 GB when installed, mainly because the model is included. The exact size varies by device and version. The interface supports nine languages.
Lighting advice, Match the light and the approximate light meter are estimates, not calibrated measurements. Results depend on the scene and device. Before using flashing effects, read the in-app photosensitivity notice.

What's New in Lux
3.3.0
October 26, 2026
• Ready for iPhone Duo: Lux fills the outer and inner displays and adjusts as you close, open and turn the phone. • Half open like a book or set up like a laptop, the controls move to one side of the fold and the light shines on both halves. • In the selfie mirror on iPhone Duo, your picture and the buttons sit on opposite sides of the fold, so nothing important is on the crease.
