I drove for Lyft for eight years (5 star driver)and dedicated thousands of hours to providing safe, reliable service. Unfortunately, my experience as a driver ended in a way that completely changed my opinion of the company.
My account was permanently deactivated after I was accused of unsafe driving, yet I was never provided with any evidence to support the allegation. What disappointed me the most was that Lyft appeared to make its decision before giving me a meaningful opportunity to explain my side. It felt like the company automatically accepted the passenger’s complaint without conducting a fair and balanced review.
Driving for Lyft comes with significant expenses, including fuel, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and countless hours on the road. Drivers are the people who keep the platform running, yet I felt like my years of service meant nothing when an accusation was made. Instead of treating me with respect and investigating the situation thoroughly, I was simply removed from the platform.
If you’re considering driving for Lyft, understand that your livelihood can depend on a single complaint, and you may not receive the transparency or due process you expect. After eight years of loyalty, I expected fairness, communication, and respect. Sadly, that wasn’t my experience.
I hope Lyft improves the way it investigates complaints by considering both the passenger’s and the driver’s perspectives before making life-changing decisions. Drivers deserve transparency, respect, and a genuine opportunity to defend themselves.

Not worth it !
I’ve been a Lyft driver on an of for about two years and it seems like when I do the rentals program I get more rides a lot more rides versus when I use my own vehicle. I will make only $42 sometimes 100 $ I work atleast 8hrs until my husband gets off work everyday but I do have to spend at least $60 in gas so my profit is only about 14-20$ I honestly feel like these ride share apps are using us for their own gain I was so happy to get back into the business because I thought I was gonna get good rides. At least make 160 a day profit or at least 140 profit. If I’m putting in a full-time shift either, it’s too much competition out here or Lyft just don’t like to give people a lot of rides let’s not forget to mention the wear and tear and miles my car had already had since I’ve been doing this. My best opinion is if you have a Honda or a more reliable car in this business u can probably profit off it. I thought I was going to be able to at least make $300 within a week doing this rideshare app because I have to pay my car note unfortunately I was only able to make $100.

Expected Better Driver Pay
I had higher expectations for driving with Lyft. The app is easy to use, but the pay is disappointing considering the cost of gas, vehicle maintenance, depreciation, and taxes. Rider fares can be high, yet drivers often receive a much smaller portion than expected. It’s difficult to make a sustainable income unless there are bonuses or surge pricing. I hope Lyft improves driver compensation because the current rates don’t reflect the true cost of driving.

So I’ve been an uber driver for quite sometime. Recently I decided that I wanted to see what Lyft was about. So, I went and applied no granted I’m a 5 star driver with uber and have over 3k 5 stars so I was thinking this is gonna be interesting. I applied and after 5 days the app said your driver application is on hold and I would need to contact checkr so I did they said I’ll need to talk to Lyft so it’s back and forth, no Lyft and uber use the exact same background check. So come to find out that my criminal conviction that’s over 30 years ago is finally being used against me. I was 18 years old made mistake have had a very productive life I’m 52 and to be told by the checkr background team that’s yea your not able to drive for Lyft but hey you good to go with uber was crazy to hear. It’s sad how you can be a rapist a child predator and you can drive for Lyft but god forbid you made a mistake 30’yrars ago and they use it against you. Way to go Lyft. Go with uber they will treat you fairly and accordingly

Una empresa que no le da garantías al conductor vela más por la satisfacción del pasajero, no le importa la seguridad e integridad del conductor. Como lo es posible que imponga una cláusula de que se debe de renunciar a demandar a Lyft de manera individual o colectiva, que si se tiene algo en contra de ellos debe de ser por medio de un reclamo.

It’s unfair that a driver is accused and not investigated! Not the driver or the rider.. I drove for 7 years and 1 false accusation I’m deactivated.. I will be perusing further with these false allegations as I’m the victim in this situation
