Used the app and website now consistently over the past three months.
The reward scheme is decent but don’t feel as though there’s actual a distinct difference such as the early/late checkout never seems to register prior and most of the staff seem to be unaware, additionally the “free drink” is available to everyone and therefore makes it being a reward pointless. During the Black Friday sale I get 25% off but not a further 15% off (with my membership level) and therefore seems pointless.
The app itself struggles to load and 8/10 I end up leaving the app and returning to HostelWorld. I’m met with a white screen and that’s it, nothing loads unless in the 20% chance i’m lucky it does after a few seconds.. the “loyalty scheme” menu also doesn’t load 80% of the time so when you try and show the discounts etc to members of staff it constantly loads and fails to perform.
Apart from this the app does offer more competitive rates than other hostel websites hence using it.

Worst experience
Booking for mad monkey property is so easy on 3rd party apps like agoda or booking.com but their own website is painfully slow, unresponsive, no data sync between website and app. I am not even sure about the card details I provided if they are safe there. This app and the website both are highly unprofessional and unsafe.

Me and my girlfriend have been to many hostels before but this has topped them all !! Phnom Penh is a great city and this app saved us money on rooms we extended for another week ! Thanks to Kc for making our holiday amazing. Best hostel rep we’ve ever met!
