Very disappointed to find that the feature I liked doesn’t actually work—when measuring to the inch, two otherwise identical doors (from a duplicated and rotated room) changed their measurements and cant be fixed. It shouldn’t be possible, but 30 minutes of manual entry and the math of the wall-door-wall doesn’t equal the total wall…

Not just for professionals!
I’ve been using magicplan for years to help me create floorplans and figure out my furniture arrangements in my own home for years now. It’s super intuitive and I love being able to see things in 3d to get an understanding of a space. I’m sure I don’t use even half of the features meant for real contractors/professionals, but just as a person who’s moved into new apartments over the years and needed to decide where furniture should go, etc, it’s been so amazing.
I decided to write this review now because I just used magicplan to help figure out moving my grandmother into a care facility. We had to really downsize and it was difficult to figure out what furniture we could keep, what would fit in the new place, and what organizations made sense. Magicplan made it so much easier to figure it all out, and I honestly don’t know how I would have done it otherwise.

Complicated
I’ve spent the last 45 minutes trying to create one room layout. Scanner doesn’t work if there any obstructions whatsoever. Trying to create rooms and add dimensions is a struggle. Nothing is intuitive. If I want to spend hours and hours learning to use this app, I could just take a class to learn CAD.
