Mahjongg Circle runs your American mahjong group, from “Who’s in on Tuesday?” to the season standings.
PLAN THE MAHJ DAYS
• Set when your group plays: every week, every 2 weeks, or the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.
• Line up who’s hosting, with her address one tap from Maps.
• Move a Mahj day, change its start time, or call it off, and text everyone the news from your own phone.
• Reminders on your phone before each Mahj day, at the times your organizer sets (turn them on in Me).
SEE WHO’S COMING
• Everyone taps “I’m in” or “Can’t make it.”
• Full house? A waitlist fills open seats in the order people replied.
• Answer for the friend who phones you instead.
• Short a player? Text your subs a link, and the first to say yes gets the seat.
PLAY THE DAY
• Sign everyone in as they arrive, with subs and dues marked.
• The app deals the tables: tables of four, a table of three when three are left over, and one waiting line for anyone else.
• Each table’s scorekeeper taps who called Mahj (or Wall game), what the hand was worth, self-picked or who threw it, and jokerless. The app works out everyone’s points.
• The deal passes every game, so the app always knows who’s East. When someone is waiting, East steps out and the next in line sits down.
• Undo or fix a game that went in wrong. Someone came late or has to leave early? One tap.
• Follow every table on the live scoreboard (with a subscription).
YOUR GROUP, YOUR HOUSE RULES
• A pie, switching tables every round, dues, and a season that runs by the calendar year, the card year (April to March) or your own months. Nothing is chosen for you.
PRIZES AND STANDINGS
• Write your own prize list: most points, most Mahjs, most jokerless Mahjs, biggest hand, fewest points, most winning tiles thrown, or your own pick.
• Today’s winners and a brag card to share, free. Season standings and the winners log come with the subscription.
PLAY FROM YOUR OWN CARD
Mahjongg Circle keeps score; it doesn’t referee. It never shows or sells the card’s hands. Your group plays from the card you already own, and the scorekeeper enters only what the winning hand was worth. Scores are points only: prizes and dues are notes, and the app never handles your group’s money.
TAKE A LOOK FIRST
Not in a group yet? Tap Take a look first for your own private sample group, with pretend players and a practice Mahj day to try.
Made for groups who’ve kept score on paper for years: large text by default, no passwords, and nothing to set up you don’t want.
SUBSCRIPTION
Saying “I’m in” and keeping score are always free. The live scoreboard, season standings, the winners log and your stats are a subscription: $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US (prices in Canada are shown in the App Store). One subscription covers every Mahjongg Circle group you play in, and it is separate from a Bunco Circle subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
