About
Mexican Train Circle runs your Mexican Train group, from “Who’s in on Wednesday?” to the season standings.
PLAN THE DOMINO NIGHTS
• Set when your group plays: every week, every 2 weeks, once a month, or the 1st and 3rd Wednesday.
• Line up who’s hosting, with the address one tap from Maps.
• Move a domino night, change its start time, or call it off. When it’s off, text everyone from your own phone.
• Reminders on your phone before each domino night, at the times your organizer sets (turn them on in Me).
SEE WHO’S COMING
• Everyone taps “I’m in” or “Can’t make it.”
• Full house? A waitlist fills open seats in the order people replied.
• Nudge everyone who hasn’t replied with one text from your own phone.
• Short a player? Text your subs a link, and the first to say yes gets the seat.
PLAY THE NIGHT
• Sign everyone in as they arrive, with subs and dues marked.
• Pick how many tables, and the app spreads everyone evenly, 2 to 8 a table, and draws the seats. Everyone plays.
• Not everyone needs the app: only the organizer and whoever keeps score at each table.
• Each round, the table’s scorekeeper taps who went out (a DOMINO! flash) and types everyone else’s pips. The app keeps every total and shows the round, Round 9 of 13 · Double 4, with how many tiles to deal. A blocked round has its own button.
• Play the full game, Double 12 down to the double blank, or a shorter one that starts and ends where you say.
• Stay at your table all night, or Mix at the break: after the round your group picks, the app draws new tables and everyone’s score carries on. “Where do I go?” shows everyone their next table and seat.
• The lowest total wins. The double blank counts 0, 50 or a number of your own.
• Undo a round, fix any saved round, and handle late arrivals and players who go home early.
• Follow every table, and the whole room, on the live scoreboard (with a subscription).
YOUR GROUP, YOUR HOUSE RULES
• How many tiles to deal, and a house-rules note everyone can read in Our rules. The app never referees: your table’s rules stay your table’s.
• Dues, and a season that runs by the calendar year or your own months.
PRIZES AND STANDINGS
• Write your own prize list: lowest score, 2nd and 3rd lowest, highest score, most times out, biggest round, or your own pick.
• Everyone’s score tonight, times out and biggest round show on Tonight’s winners, free, with a brag card to share.
• The live scoreboard, season standings (the average per round, lowest first), the winners log and your stats come with the subscription.
• Nobody adds up score sheets at the end.
YOUR DOMINOES, YOUR TABLE
Mexican Train Circle keeps score. It doesn’t deal, lay out trains or count tiles, and it doesn’t referee. Your group plays with its own dominoes the way it always has, and each player counts their own pips. Scores are pips only: prizes and dues are notes, and the app never handles your group’s money.
TAKE A LOOK FIRST
Not in a group yet? Tap Take a look first for your own private sample group, with pretend players, a domino night already played and a practice night to try.
Made for groups who’ve played for years: large text by default, no passwords, and nothing to set up you don’t want.
SUBSCRIPTION
Saying “I’m in”, keeping score, finding your table and Tonight’s winners are always free. The live scoreboard, season standings, the winners log and your stats are a subscription: $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US (prices in Canada are shown in the App Store). The price is per person: each player who wants these subscribes for themselves, and one subscription covers every Mexican Train Circle group they play in. Payment is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
