Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Maktun does actually help you determine the value, though it works a bit differently to a direct appraisal. Maktun is a collection management and coin identification app, therefore, we do not personally engage in buying or selling coins. However, we provide all the necessary data so that you can determine the market value of your item independently. To find out how much your coin is worth, simply tap the "$" button next to the identified coin. You will then see a list of lots of the same type that have been sold at global online auctions over the last six months. By comparing your coin with those already sold (matching the year and, most importantly, the condition), you can get an idea of the current market price. Please bear in mind that auction prices are only a guide, as the final value always depends on rarity and condition. We hope this helps you to value your collection! Best regards, Maktun Team

Хотим уточнить, что все ключевые функции приложения остаются полностью бесплатными: ведение коллекции, распознавание монет, подробная информация и ориентировочная стоимость, статистика и другие базовые возможности доступны без подписки. Платная подписка — это не обязательное условие, а дополнительная опция для тех, кому хочется больше расширенных функций и удобств. Она помогает нам покрывать расходы на развитие проекта: улучшать качество распознавания, расширять базу монет, добавлять новые функции и поддерживать стабильную работу сервиса. «Зум» — это часть расширенного функционала для тех, кому важна каждая микродеталь, но базового просмотра обычно достаточно для идентификации. Мы стараемся развивать приложение в первую очередь для сообщества нумизматов и будем рады любым предложениям, которые помогут сделать его полезнее. Спасибо, что пользуетесь приложением 🙌

Versuchen Sie, Fotos bei Tageslicht vor einem einfarbigen, kontrastreichen Hintergrund zu machen – dies erhöht die Genauigkeit erheblich. Keine App der Welt kann anhand eines Fotos eine 100-prozentige Echtheit einer Münze/eines Banknotens garantieren. Für eine seriöse Begutachtung müssen Gewicht, Rand, Metallzusammensetzung und Mikrodetails der Prägung bei einer persönlichen Untersuchung überprüft werden. Maktun hilft Ihnen, den Münztyp und seinen Marktwert zu bestimmen, aber die endgültige Entscheidung über die Echtheit bleibt immer dem Experten und der persönlichen Untersuchung vorbehalten. Die Basisfunktionen (Erkennung und Sammlungsverwaltung) sind weiterhin kostenlos. Maktun Pro-Tips: How to Get Perfect Scans
If you want to get the most out of Maktun’s AI recognition, here are a few tricks I’ve learned to ensure a 100% match rate:
• The "Paper" Trick: Place your coin or banknote on a plain white piece of paper. This high-contrast background helps the AI instantly distinguish the edges of the coin from your table or desk.
• Parallel is Key: Hold your phone perfectly flat (parallel) to the coin. If you tilt the phone, it distorts the shape of the coin, making it harder for the AI to recognize the inscriptions.
• Lighting over Flash: Use natural, indirect light (like near a window) whenever possible. If you must use the flash, try not to point it directly at reflective coins; instead, use a desk lamp from a 45° angle to bring out the relief and details without the "blinding" glare.
• Don't Get Too Close: Maktun has a great autofocus. You don’t need to zoom in until the coin fills the whole screen—just make sure it’s centered and sharp. The app's recent 2026 update even includes on-screen tips to help you lock in the perfect focus.
• Use the Tokens Filter: If you’re scanning a commemorative token or medal, remember that Maktun recently added a specific Tokens & Medals database. If a coin isn’t scanning as "currency," try checking the token section!
