What's New in Manic EMU

2.0.0

September 3, 2026

Manic EMU 2.0.0 rebuilds the UI, library, and controller navigation, adds systems, and brings Netplay to eligible Libretro cores. Before You Update - Dreamcast (Flycast): old Save States won’t work. Convert to in-game saves or back up Flycast/dc. - Wii: BootMii-format keys.bin required. - Symbian: install firmware in Settings first (.ROM; S60v2+ also needs .RPKG). - GameCube / Wii: still optimizing; expect heat and frame drops. - MAME: lesser-used arcade systems trimmed; some obscure titles may not run. Interface Landscape - New landscape library; most pages redesigned. - ShaderToy (GLSL) backgrounds. Single-image only; complex scripts may add heat. - Customizable card carousel styles. - Focused background: selected banner as landscape backdrop. - Landscape Background Music: built-in or your own files. - 12 navigation and focus sound-effect sets. Game Options and Shortcuts - Unified options list and interaction model. - Actions auto-arrange and regroup by context. - Advanced reordering of option order and grouping. - Redesigned in-game shortcut menu on supported skins and in the in-game menu. Navigation and Input - Global focus on iPhone and iPad; use a controller or keyboard alone. - Hold Command or the controller’s Select button for the shortcut cheatsheet. - Unified navigation bar for browsing and editing. - Long-press and hidden actions now use iOS-style interactions. - Batch management and actions. - Adaptive rotation in the app. - Assign controllers to a player slot; map to keyboard events on keyboard cores. Features Library and Artwork - Separate icon and banner art for lists, square layouts, and landscape focus backdrop. - Online art: Libretro Thumbnails and SteamGridDB (Grids/Heroes/Logos/Icons; your API key). - Changing platform or category rematches covers. Game Data - Metadata: auto-match, search, or edit developer, publisher, series, genre, date, region, overview, and more. - ESRB ratings and icons; hide them in Settings. - Redesigned Save State manager with import and export. - Scoped settings (game/platform/global); clear or reset each independently. - Batch scraping for covers, icons, and banners. Shaders and Skins - Real-time shader preview without loading first. - Redesigned default GBA skin. - Flex skins: customize button size and position. Achievements, Cheats, and Netplay - Faster, clearer RetroAchievements pages. - MultiSet: subset achievements without a patched ROM; switching lists only changes the view. - Online cheat database: search, multi-select add, bookmarks. - Netplay: host/join, lobby, LAN, relay, spectator, password. Display name from Adventurer Card. Trade Pokémon or arcade versus. - Rewind via shortcut menu, controller mapping, or Trigger Pro; touch and hold. Advanced Features and Import - Core Settings (advanced). Wrong values may block launch. Reset per game or platform. - Adventurer Card in Settings, with custom nickname and avatar. - Import games from DukeX. - Import games from Armsx2. - PS1: import .bin files directly. New Systems and Cores Symbian (EKA2L1) - S60v1, N-Gage 1.0, S60v2, S60v3, N-Gage 2.0, S60v5, and Symbian^3. - Touch input, firmware management, and system apps. PC Engine (Beetle PCE) - TurboGrafx-16, TurboGrafx-CD, SuperGrafx; subcategory switching. Neo Geo Pocket / Color (Beetle NeoPop) - Neo Geo Pocket and Color; subcategory switching. Commodore 64 (VICE x64sc) - Full keyboard; switch gamepad and keyboard skins. Amiga (PUAE) - Full keyboard; switch gamepad and keyboard skins. GameCube / Wii (Dolphin) - Wii: Wiimote Sideways. - Dolphin cheats, including Action Replay Max decryption. - Wiimote skins for Wii. Other Cores - Mesen-S for SNES / GB / GBC. - gpSP for GBA; switchable with mGBA and VBA-M. Core Updates Latest upstream stable: - 3DS (Azahar, Citra) - PS1 (Beetle PSX HW) - DOS (DOSBox Pure) - Dreamcast (Flycast) — see the Save State note above - NDS (melonDS) - PSP (PPSSPP) - N64 (Mupen64Plus) Fixes - Bug fixes and performance optimizations

User reviews

Cool!

Very good but the games can be a bit tricky to set up depending on the console

Just won’t work on iPhone

Tried on a couple of apple devices now and the app just shuts down and doesn’t load past the manic screen. Sad cause was an awesome app when I first started using it a while back

Why

I Love using Manic Emu but i can't even play Dreamcast games. Anytime i wanna play Dreamcast game like Sonic Adventure the game will just send me back to the starting screen! PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE IF YOU SEE THIS DEVELOPERS!

Better than Delta

I have been waiting for Delta to fix audio popping on both Gameboy and SNES for a long time, no audio problems here! I would give it 5 stars but they just updated the game view interface and while I love carousels I think it is worse. Maybe an option for the original view? Or maybe there is a carousel for each console, and you scroll the consoles vertically like before?

Please add ps2

I don't know if it is possible but try and add ps2, other than that this is an amazing app that runs all my games 100/10
