I love this game!
I was skeptical at first because I am not great at geography. However, this game is the absolute best. I am challenging my brain to think through what I know to answer the questions (vs our instinct now to just quickly search anything up), I’m relearning geography, I’m very competitive so I love comparing the scores with my spouse, the app has so many great additional ways to practice and explore! On top of all that fun, is the best part- fun facts related to each location, I’ve learned about so many people who have changed the world in small and big ways. This game/app is actually the best. No in app purchases, no ads, just the best!

Fun and educational
I’ve been playing MapTap almost every morning since December, and I finally downloaded the app last week. I enjoy the educational aspect, learning about not only where places are but the history behind them. I’m always a little shocked at my lack of knowledge of geography. I love the snarky remarks that you get every time you get a wrong location. A lot of thought goes into making this game, and I appreciate it.

This game/quiz is so much fun. My son and I compete every morning and compare our scores - from 2,000 miles apart! It keeps my brain sharp, helps me stay aware of countries - large and small - all around the globe, and is super informative with stories that are breathtaking for their history, background, and subject matter. It my favorite few minutes of the morning. A five-star rating is not enough.

This is the perfect app! Learning geography I had long forgotten ( or never knew lol). It’s really fun and I play with a group of family members which is a little competitive. Also a great and little known story from history of each location.
Greatest Daily Game
This game has to be the best game meant to be played for a few minutes every day, even for people who aren’t into geography. The development team also does an outstanding job of delivering subtle but impactful updates. Most recently I enjoy the little blurbs about each location as you guess that replaced the generic feedback based on how close you guessed.

Best app on my phone
I love map tap. My friends and I play daily. The history tidbits are so interesting and well thought out. I love the glimpses into an interesting persons life. Not the ones your usually hear about either.
Fun daily game
Similar to geoguessr but instead of having a picture you just have the name of the city and the detailed map to click as close as possible to score the best you can with an increasingly difficult to find (as an American) set of locations! Most days are about the same difficulty and if you are passionate about maps I bet you’ll do great.

Incredible App
Map Tap features a blend of geography and history. The narratives are honest and informative without being preachy - in fact most have a nice touch of humour while still being able to shine a light on the challenges that the featured countries and peoples have faced.
