Too locked in to a formula. As noted prior, challenge derailed the enjoyment fairly quickly.

Alright but is too challenging to be fun
It’s a good game but it is way to challenging to be enjoyable because something is always going wrong and I beat the game only once because of luck
Great Game, unexpected depth
Fantastic game about turning a small tribe (Sparta, Athens or another) into a sprawling empire, with population management sliders as the main feature, and colony’s+warfare+trade

Original was imho better
For Version 1.07
Constant time of appearance of scout/general/etc is limiting the strategy. In the original version it was dependent on the corresponding income, and it was cool and made sence.
I was able to focus on gold to get ambassadors fast, visa versa generals are 15 turns long, which makes it harder to conquer states.
it was not clear from begging that all colonies need to be set, but appeared to be needed for the end goal.
At the end of the game I had to wait for colonist 15 turns (when everything else was already long ready) just to settle last colony.
It was challenging on normal level to survive to Greece union.
Afterwards game was way to easy.
But all I all a nice game, good job!
