Love but disappointing bugs
I love this app and continue to use it but the Seconds are super buggy. The image displays partially off the screen (bottom cut off). Playback is also glitchy and oddly repetitive when others react or comment on several. I had the paid subscription but cancelled because this was never fixed and it detracts. I would resubscribe if it does ever get sorted.

Love it, but can’t see how long recording is
I love Marco Polo, and I use it daily, but it is very frustrating that, even on the paid version, I cannot see how long I am recording a video for while recording. I would definitely give a 5 star if this issue was solved.
Horrible
Terrible video quality and the app always threatens to delete vids and try’s everything to push users to subscribe and pay. Hate it but it keeps some members of the family happy.
You have to pay for basic features
You have to pay for basic emoji’s. Thats silly. I only use this app because my daughter in college asked me to.
Lifesaver
I use this app to communicate with family and friends whom I can’t see regularly and it helps me feel connected to them.
Why
It is so nice to be able to see loved ones faces and know what they’re doing. Instead of being sad that you missed a call, you are happy that you get a tidbit of their life!
Marco Polo
Marco Polo is a great app! It has an awesome set up and is so helpful! If you want to chat with a friend but you can’t be with them (and texting isn’t the same) this is perfect for you!
The only thing I would say could be improved with this app is that there is no clear way to delete or not send a video once you’ve started it and I can’t figure out how to delete seconds.

Poor Customer Support
I was not reminded of a recurring annual payment of $79.99 upon the end of a free week trial of the Plus subscription. I reached out to customer support in order to receive a refund as to resolve the issue, but was met with a response declining my request. Highly unprofessional and deceptive, also the Plus features are so far from being worth the $79.99/year that they charge. Be weary of this app!

No Rotation & Camera Placement
Why do I have to rotate my iPad when I want to record a MP but not when viewing rec’d MPs or on the home screen? On top of that, the camera placement (mid screen; right side) makes me appear to be looking up; to the left when I’m looking straight forward. It’s annoying!

I tried the free trial version for the paid tier. You can reply within others videos, not just after. Cool idea especially in large groups. Then-you get like 5 seconds to respond, what do you even say? “Wow I really like how you—“ done. I had to use 3 separate videos just to react to a video and they also didn’t get any notification about it. So I texted that person in the group and then they saw it. You can heart and smile emoji. Nice, very standard. But-no one knows who hearted it or smiled, you only see that there are hearts on the thumbnails and not in the videos. Video quality is also very low. Nice ideas but needs interactive improvements

Microphone setting?
When using AirPods, the app does not use the AirPods’ microphone, but the mic on the phone. Would be good for this to change.

This is pretty good.
Disappointing
I used to love this app as a way of keeping in touch with my family, until they started charging insane prices to use the most basic features. I caved for the last family plan but now with it almost doubling, I’m just so disappointed.
Meaningful connections
I enjoy using Marco Polo frequently. It provides a quick way to connect with others in a meaningful way to share messages within the heart and mind.
Disappointing now a days
I used to use this app in like 2019. It was awesome. Loved it. Now all they want is money and everything requires a paid plan. The free feature barely exists. I’m so disappointed.
Great App BUT
I recently moved across the country and have been using Marco Polo to keep in touch with my friends back home. I do love the video message function and I do feel that it works great. However, I do not appreciate how much of the app is behind a paywall. If you are willing to pay, you can send photos, watch at 2x speed, and read transcripts, all of which I feel would be incredibly beneficial but simply aren’t worth the price point when you can get the same thing in basically any messages app for free.
