Not an improvement

When the MDJ ceased home deliveries subscribers were required to read the latest news on their iPhones or iPads. Or, if the subscriber didn’t mind reading their newspaper a few days later they were offered the option of delivery via the US Postal Service.
The former MDJ app was easy to navigate and was easy to expand articles and features for further reading or, if desired, printing or emailing. This new app is not user friendly. Some, but not all articles can be expanded for easier reading. Sometimes when attempting to expand an article or story the message “not available “ will pop up. This new MDJ app is several steps backward. MDJ readers deserve better.

Did anyone at MDJ ask?

New app is awful!

Mostly great

E edition works well, easy to read and the the bonus page is nice. There are only two problems with the e edition; I have to copy and print the crossword and the sudoku puzzles. The second problem is a bit more frustrating; every so often I have have to sign in with my password and that irritates me because I usually have to look up my ID and password before I have enjoy my coffee and paper ( that’s too much work before breakfast).
Also, since we’re on the subject, the paper version of this newspaper doesn’t show up in my mailbox in the afternoon as promised. I have a feeling that the MDJ is counting on the idea that I will not miss the hard copy of the paper after a while and the MDJ will save printing and postal costs.
If that is the intent of the MDJ you should just announce that intention. I do love the hard copy of paper especially for the crossword puzzle and sudoku. Also the newspaper comes in handy from time to time for various other things (If you would like a list of uses for yesterday’s hard copy I will be happy to supply it).
Be that as it may, I do think Marietta would be a poorer city without the MDJ, E edition or hard copy.
Thank you
