Maryland Farm

The Maryland FARM app by the Oyster Recovery Partnership is designed to simplify farm management and reporting for Maryland aquaculture farmers. Supported by the Maryland DNR, the app streamlines inventory management, simplifies reporting, and provides a centralized hub with management tools, maps, and communication features to support Maryland’s aquaculture industry. The Maryland FARM app is designed for aquaculture farmers in Maryland, including those with submerged land and water column leases, to simplify farm management and streamline regulatory reporting. Farmers are required to submit monthly and annual reports for each of their leases to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). Currently, farmers rely on various methods to track inventory, plantings, and sales, often compiling this information manually into detailed reports. This process can cause inefficiencies, delays in data processing, and challenges for MDNR in effectively monitoring and managing aquaculture activities. The FARM app addresses these challenges by providing a centralized, digital tool to support farmers in managing operations, simplifying reporting requirements with less reliance on paper, and accessing additional tools to enhance their work.
