HOW TO PLAY Mattis is played in two distinct phases that test foresight and adaptability. PHASE 1 - COLLECTION • Each round, play one card from your hand. • The highest card wins and collects all cards on the table. • Collect wisely - those cards become your lifeline in the next phase. PHASE 2 - SHEDDING • Empty your hand before everyone else. • Follow suit and beat the previous card to shed yours. • The last player holding cards becomes the Mattis and loses.
