Sad to see a great app go

This was such a great calendar app. I’m so sad to see it go. It was the perfect blend of simplicity and functionality. I loved being able to contribute ideas and reporting bugs I encountered. This really was an amazing app and I loved how they had it set up.

Very nice UI but totally useless

The team for this app clearly spent too much time making it look all nice and fluffy. It promises all the features we want but fails to do basic things like integrate with iCal. How does an app that only exists within the Mac user ecosystem not integrate with iCal!? The obvious issue for me appeared as I was excitingly starting to use the app and it started repeatedly crashing when I tried to add events. Not clear what's going on but the user experience is not smooth. Needs more work.

Great idea!

Using AI to map out the day, help plan projects, etc. is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately like others have mentioned I couldn’t get my Microsoft 365 work calendar to sync so I couldn’t really go from there. Giving it a hopeful three stars that this will be fixed soon.

Unfortunately fails at its most basic job

I want to love it. The auto-tagging is useful, buffer time is great, condensed display of the same event in multiple calendars is fantastic, and copying events across calendars is well done. It’s got so much good stuff.

But. It doesn’t sync events from Google Calendar consistently. It just doesn’t. There have been *many* times now where a meeting just doesn’t show up in Mayday, even days after it’s added. I used both the iOS app and the macOS app. I don’t know if it’s because I just keep them open without restarting, but either way, not having your actual events visible in your calendar app is a table stakes failure that makes it categorically unfit for the job. I missed multiple meetings because of it until I realized what was happening.

There hasn’t been an update for 3 months, and that bug is too egregious to bear. I kept having to check Google Calendar to confirm what I was seeing in Mayday was real, until eventually I realized I was back to using it full time. A real shame.

Great Potential

This is a really innovative calendar app. The integration of tasks and automatic rescheduling of them is nice. The intelligent sync across multiple calendars is fantastic. Buffer time is really useful. Tag-based defaults for events also really useful.

Unfortunately, I can't use it as my primary calendar, because events just don't stay in sync with Google Calendar. I've turned up multiple times to meetings that had been moved or where folks had cancelled, and it wasn't reflected in Mayday. There is a manual sync button, but if I have to press it multiple times a day because I'm not confident that it's up to date, I might as well just use the original calendar.

I really, really hope they fix this because I love everything else about the product, and I'd love to use it and nothing else.

Still Not For Me

The app is designed well and I love how it works. There been iCloud support coming for a long time and it’s still not here, so I can’t view my full agenda. Without that, the AI and stuff isn’t helpful. Any developer that puts an app on Apple’s App Store should be ashamed for not including iCloud. That should be ready to go day one. I kept the app to check every so often but I give up, it’s just vaporware and this app seems like it’ll never be for me.

Great Calendar App

I live in my calendar and being able to book tasks and events that automatically shift based on what’s going on in the day is a game changer!

I so wanted to use this

Unfortunately, iCloud calendar isn’t supported (yet?) and you have to have admin rights to approve access to Exchange calendars…so I can’t hook up my work calendar OR my personal one.

Bummer :(

Nice start, but a little ways to go

I've been searching for a killer calendar app for Mac for a while that balanced beautiful design with great functionality. So Mayday seems to be heading in the right direction to be that app. It's design is top notch with decent functionality. I understand the app is in beta, so it's completely understandable that there are still some issues to iron out. Once ironed out, I think Mayday could be the hidden gem of calendar apps. I'm looking forward to watching this app evolve.

why

why have a production app available for download when it isnt available for use

Great app .. read the comments

This is a fantastic calendar app, however you need an invite to use it. If you read the low reviews they are all complaining about not being able to use the app, and not because the app is bad.

Do your self a favor, go to the website and request access.

What a joke

Why have an app when this is unavailable. It says 4 years old???? wondered why there are no reviews.

Love to find a decent calendar for my iMac. Unfortunatly the app I use on my iphone and ipad doesn't support Mac at the moment.

Looks like I'm forced to purchase Fantasical... arrrgg.

Of course if Apple made a good calendar, a calendar search wouldn't be neccessary.

Can’t use

I don’t know why do you app the app here if we can’t use it

Not available yet

Apple shouldn't have approved this for the store.

not available yet

WHen the software becomes available I will update this review, if I have not found one that meets my needs. Disappointed in app store that it has an app on here that is not available.

Hoping for access soon!

Hello! I've never actually written a review for an app before but this one just seems like a must have. I have had issues with Google Calendar and just never felt like it was right for me so I switched to bullet jounraling but I would forget about deadlines in case I ever forgot to bring it with me. I'm hoping that Mayday is it, and from the looks of it will likely be something that I will invest in getting if a pro version were to come out. I would love to start right away and get access to the app ASAP if possible since I am busiest right now. If there is someone I can email to let them know which email I used to sign up, that would be great. Thanks!
