App is awful
The app is awful. It takes so long so long to get it to work, I don’t want to read it as I am so frustrated 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Used to be great
Not sure what’s happening, refuses to log in ‘user cancels process’. When it works it’s a lovely app allowing me to keep up to date - especially good on the iPad to view a newspaper layout and read. I would say 3 out of 5 times the app fails in one way or another and needs a restart. Latest update has broken the login on my iPhone (17, latest OS and update). There’s a point at which you just give up - the digital side of my MCN subscription seems to be a waste of money.

Content is as it has been for many years excellent. However, the digital magazine is as poor as it always has been. It freezes, crashes, jumps to random pages. I thought by now it would have been sorted.
Can’t seem to get the content
Even tho I’m logged in, and a paying member it blocks me from seeing the content and asks me to sign up? Seems like a fairly basic thing to get right. Guess I’m cancelling that sub then.
Cross platforms
I’ve had a subscription via the App Store. Can’t read MCN on a Samsung device as it says I need to subscribe. Surely a subscription is with MCN(Bauer)and not platform dependent. I prefer to read on my Samsung tab, and also on my iPhone when I’m out and about. Shouldn’t need two subscriptions. Maybe I’ve got this wrong.

Just paid for a subscription and it still asks me to subscribe. Pretty poor so far.
Bad experience with the app and subscriptions
I thought I paid for MCN premium, but it’s not showing me as a member. I also received Classic Bike as a gift, and gave Garden Answers as a gift to my wife. But the app doesn’t allow you to use the same email for different magazines… ridiculous. I’ve had multiple comms with Bauer but it’s still not sorted. Their app needs to improve!

Just Doesn’t Work
Purchased an MCN offer to see if a longer term subscription would be worthwhile. The App just doesn’t function properly, multiple logins required, keeps requesting you to upgrade even though I have a valid membership. Cannot access any archived material or recent issues with a valid digital subscription. This very dissatisfied and frustrated customer has cancelled his subscription.

Unable to access online content
Very disappointed. In unable to access online content since I signed up for MCN. Bauer media have been very slow to give support and explain why this is, or resolve the issue. It’s been over 5 weeks now and still no progress made. I would stick to the paper version if I were you.
Buggy
In Archive, when reading an issue on iPad (iOS 17.5.1):
You read a few pages then swipe left to view the next page and you get a blank page - solution: restart the app
You’re reading a page and then stop to do something else so the screen locks. When you unlock, the app doesn’t remember the page you’re on, it skips forward several pages (on longer issues, e.g. TT special it seems to skip forward a lot of pages) - solution: swipe right to find your previous page
You get a ‘rewards’ pop-up, so you click it, but there seems to be no way to exit the screen you’re in to get back to the main app page or to continue reading
On the plus side, the image quality is good

Can’t buy individual editions.
I don’t like that I have to buy a complete subscription. I can’t afford that, and find it very shady. I used to buy copies if the articles suited me. Now I don’t. You’ve lost a customer.
Going around in a loop
I can’t access my subscription on my I pad it keeps saying that I need a later iOS but I cannot download that then it says that is ok download an older version but pressing continue just takes you in a loop. Now am stuck on a page selling moto Gp tickets but no way back to the app ffs
Horrendous
This is the most frustrating app ever. You sign up pay your subscription then all it does is ask you to subscribe every time you log in or open it. You try to sign in again thinking you may have made a mistake and surprise surprise you are logged in after all. You open a copy of MCN and it blocks you from reading it because your apparently not logged in. The money is removed from my account every month but I’m not subscribed!! I have complained to customer services and up to now have got nowhere apart from being out of pocket and an iPad that I threaten to bounce of the walls with frustration. Arghhhhh.

Waste of Time
Half the articles won’t load and when I try to load any article to read I always get the same article about Laser lights. I’ve reloaded the app and checked my internet connection with no improvement. The web page works okay. I’m on a 4 issue trial but with this performance I wont be continuing to support them.

You can’t navigate out of the messages centre making the app totally unusable.
The latest issue
The latest issue of the digital format does not show on the app. No information as to how to load it. In my opinion this app is a waste of time.
Was great until it stopped working…
Been subscribed for a while, was working fine until one day it decided that I wasn’t a paid subscriber anymore and now can’t access any content. Tried contacting them but not had any joy. Will have to cancel my subscription…
What a Crock (thieves).
I’ve been buying MCN from local newsagents for years and love it. I decided to sign up for a delivery service and opted for a digital version too to try it out with the intention of reverting to digital only if I liked it. That’s where the problem started. You have to activate an account before you can retrieve it but it would not allow me to access via the email link they sent me, via access on line or by downloading this useless app. I contacted customer services and having explained the situation I was told I needed to set up an on line account. Doh! Oh really I’d just explained that was the problem. Having explained it again twice I decided to revert to paper delivery only and asked them to refund the difference. They cannot do that apparently surprise surprise so I cancelled the whole thing and contacted my bank to be sure they didn’t take any funds. Why don’t they sort this out? I’m not the only one complaining so they’re obviously not listening to customers. I’m off to the local newsagent who sells out very quickly. I wonder why 🤔🙄 Update 27th May. Decided to have another try from scratch and signed up for a paper subscription. I’ve had one four weeks out of date two copies of the same paper twice and the rest haven’t arrived. I contacted today and they’ve refused to reimburse me but offered to extend the contract end date. What’s the point of extending a service I’m not receiving. They are in breech of contract and I’m having to take this further through the small claims court. A bunch of thieves. 🤷♂️
