SEE WHAT YOU ARE HOLDING, BEFORE IT GOES IN THE BASKET Scan a barcode in the shop and Mealuna now opens a product card instead of adding anything: the nutrition on that exact pack, a 0-100 fit score with the reasoning in plain words, and - where a partner store operates - the alternatives standing beside it, both the same product in other packs and the rest of that shelf. Any two can be compared side by side. Nothing is saved until you say so, and there are now two different ways to say it: the basket button puts the item on this shopping trip only, while the star means "this one suits me from now on" and is shared with your group. Scanning just to look leaves no trace at all. The same card opens from any row on your shopping list, and rows you have scanned carry their score right there in the list. Part of Premium, and the switch sits on the camera, so plain scan-and-add is always one tap away. SCANNING KNOWS MORE PRODUCTS NOW Barcodes are looked up in Mealuna's own product database as well as in Open Food Facts. Across a sample of real scans, about one code in five was known only to ours - nearly all of them Estonian and Baltic products the open database has never seen. When both know the product, you choose which name to keep, and you can edit it. Loose produce and weighed items are recognised for what they are instead of being looked up in vain. A LABEL SCAN NO LONGER LOSES WHAT IT DID NOT READ Photographing a nutrition label used to replace everything on the product, so any value the camera missed - carbohydrates, protein, salt, fibre, and every vitamin and mineral - quietly disappeared. What is already there is now kept, and the confirmation screen lists exactly what is about to change, with anything that would be lost shown first, in red. NUTRITION MATHS, CORRECTED Foods labelled per 100 ml were converted one step too many: milk came out around 3% high, oils around 8% low, and those numbers went into the diary, into Apple Health, and into recipe and menu totals. They are right now. Quick-Add in the diary also reads the same catalog values as every other screen, so one product no longer shows two different numbers depending on where you look at it. ALSO FIXED - Settings went from thirteen blocks down to seven, with the explanations tucked behind info buttons instead of filling half the page. - The "Eaten" part of the food diary now gives each meal its own card, and the rows are tighter. - A scan that fails because there is no signal says so, instead of looking exactly like an unknown product. - Nutrition you type in by hand now actually appears on the product afterwards. - The product page says which values came from the store and which came from Open Food Facts. - Telling Mealuna "this code is not this product" now clears the saved preference as well. - Product cards: swipe back works, the page returns to the top when you switch product, weighed items open, photos zoom, and the small controls are easier to hit.
