Total garbage
Wouldn’t piss on one of these things if it was on fire. One probe got too hot which turned off the reading for all my other probes. So I pulled my chicken thinking it was done. Cut it open for my nephew and it was raw!! Absolute garbage.

These guys hate software. Given it’s a premium “smart” probe, that’s a problem. It’s so many clicks to do anything - especially setting up multiple probes for same cook. It appears they also recently removed the “previous cooks” shortcut when setting up the first probe, thus somehow adding more clicks to process of setting up a probe.

MEATER fails more than it works.
My METEER block is down to one functional probe of 4 and the batteries get drained quite quickly. I also have two of the MEATER pro plus which sometimes work and sometimes do not. I thought they were amazing when I first got them but now I’m very disappointed.
Won’t stay paired
I repeatedly have to pair these things, and often have to reset them to get them to find the probes which are literally inches from my phone. Absolutely ridiculous for something so expensive. Absolutely worthless.
The bricked their devices
This is my second time posting a review. Meater bricked my device with multiple bad app updates. My meater pro is charged and paired but will not connect in the app for cooks. If I push through picking a recipe under explore, like their support staffed asked, it will connect and that seems to be the only way to connect BUT I DONT WANT TO BE FORCED TO USE YOU RECIPES!!! So I cancel that and just try to connect again to cook my slab of meat and it won’t connect!! I’m on the latest app with a fully charged meater pro that’s connected to my phone but won’t connect in the app. I’ve tried to get a cook going on both my iphone and my wife’s samsung phone, both have the same problem. Your app update bricked my meater. No I’m not calling your service center again and spending an hour on the phone to try and use your lousy app. FIX IT.

Disconnects
Unfortunately I’m past my warranty period and I haven’t used this enough to know it was defective until my last few cooks. These thermostats disconnect frequently making them much less useful than my manual probe thermometer that I use in conjunction with the MEATER ones.
These probes are a great idea but I feel they either need more R&D or I just got a bum one.

Connection Issues
Extremely frustrated with this product considering how it is marketed and the price point. I am constantly battling the connection between app and probe. This is the second thermometer I’ve purchased as the original MEATER I had broke due to water. The Pro Plus is more expensive and might be worse.
Not reliable
I’ve owned a dual unit for around 12 months now. We barely use it, but when we do use it the probe either can’t link to the dock or it loses connection during the cook. Complete waste of money, sadly!
This thing sucks
It doesn’t work anymore. $200 bucks down the drain. Stay away.
Rubish
Crapiest this I have ever bought drops out batteries go flat. Tried to get a refund but couldn’t provide proof of purchase.
Terrible Product
The probe won’t even work anymore. Keeps telling me to charge even tho it’s blinking green. I maybe got 3 cooking sessions out of this cheap thing. Tried everything to fix it. Apparently that’s the reputation with their products.

The temperature probes are great. The app not so much. I’m cooking three of the same thing, why do I have to put it in three times and get the warning for grilling three times! Come on update the app!!! MEATER responded with”…each probe currently needs its own cook setup, which means the same information has to be entered multiple times …” I am asking if they will update the the app to handle this in the background.

Devices constantly disconnect
The devices do not maintain strong connection and the app is super annoying with its notification as there is no way to turn off device disconnect notifications.
The only way to turn off notifications is to turn it them off from your settings, which turns EVERYTHING off and makes the probe useless.
