Knowledge is power
I always ask the doctor the what, why and wherefores of any prescribed drug, and the expected or anticipated results. Then I consult the appropriate Farlex references regarding medicine, medical and nursing information. At 73, it’s better to be fully informed than unpleasantly surprised. It’s not about trust (although if there’s reason for doubt, switch doc’s!) but informed decision making.

WELL DONE
I have had this app on my iPhone for about a month or so, and it’s proven to be an effective tool for understanding the purposes of the post-procedure medications that my surgeon and doctor want me to take while recovering.
It’s extremely helpful and easy to use, though speaking as academic I might add that it appears to be designed more for professionals and perhaps college students attending med school- judging by the terminology and UI. Other than that I highly recommend it.
