Mildly infuriating

1/26/26: App still not reliable. Notifications broken, meaning that we rack up charges because our answering service has to use alternate methods to contact us when the app inevitably fails. Had to uninstall and reinstall again. Original review: In some ways, life has never been better for health care providers. We’re curing incurable cancers, making the blind see again (I’m an ophthalmologist), and focusing on our own mental well being. For this reason, it’s ironic that Mediprocity is already a fossilized app , not evolving or addressing problems using feedback from providers. I get dropped notifications, one forcing me to drive a half hour back to the office and several requiring the answering service to text, then call. This wastes our time and creates extra charges. Feedback to Mediprocity means doing troubleshooting. Yes, I have iOS Up to date, yes, Mediprocity is up to date. Yes, I restarted the app. Yes, I power cycled my phone. Yes, I deleted and reinstalled the Mediprocity app. Notifications don’t consistently work, and haven’t for at least since our answering service adopted it. Also, to add to the annoyances, I cannot log in to the app with my password keychain, like most of my apps. Instead three fields have to be entered: username, password and encryption key. You cannot copy and paste either. Why? you ask. Because, after you enter your username and leave the login page, go back to your notes app to retrieve your password, the login screen refreshes…every time. So, now you have to re-enter your username, paste the password, and what? you have to enter the encryption key in another field. Don’t know it? Need to go back to your notes to get it? Well, you just went back to square one. You have to fill in all three fields again. Support has been, again, unhelpful. I got a nonsensical answer as to why I can’t store my credentials in the Apple Password app. And although we didn’t pay directly for the Mediprocity app, we are certainly paying indirectly. Our exchange pays for the service and passes on the cost. We also rack up extra charges because Mediprocity can’t, or more likely won’t, get notifications to consistently work on an iPhone.

I landed on this iPad app review page through the mac OS App Store, even though it’s installed on my iPhone and our answering service messages us through our phones. Long story short, notifications are unreliable. When they don’t work, basically every time we are on call, it forces our exchange to text and call, thus generating extra charges for us. Some dropped/silent notifications have resulted in trips back to the office when a notification didn’t pop up while driving home. Others have made it necessary for the exchange to call at night when notifications remain silent. Customer support? Typical, with user error at the top of the list, with no acknowledgement that the problem lies with Mediprocity. Yes, I’ve restarted and re-logged-in to the app. Yes, I’ve power cycled my phone. Yes, I’ve deleted and re-installed the Mediprocity app. No, I don’t use “focus” or other modes that silence notifications and anyhow, I’ve put Mediprocity on a “whitelist” so that it wouldn’t be excluded/silenced anyway. Also, to add to the annoyances, I cannot log in to the app with my password keychain, like most of my apps. Instead three fields have to be entered: username, password and encryption key. Wonderful communication tool

This app is absolutely wonderful. Like with any technology it has had its issues. However, once they are identified Mediprocity immediately corrects them. I highly recommend this application to anyone!!

Flaws

App constantly tells me I have 3 messages pending. I have to go back in to app and refresh screen with every message...

DON

Love this app. Great way to communicate with docs.

Works Great for Our Facility

It works great for our long term care skilled facility; medical director, charge nurse, DON, ADON MDS coordinator, office manager, QAPI nurse and administrator use it; best way to text and send information securely. We have a Apple iPods that the facility uses so that it’s not on charge nurses individual phones; it is installed on everyone else’s personal or work cell phones. No complaints, when I have questions they are great to jump on and answer and help me with whatever question or issue I have.

Working well!

This app is back to being awesome! Thank you!

Response from developer

Thank you! We have more exciting updates coming very soon!

It’s terrible

It can’t possibly be that difficult to have an app keep the biometrics turned on. I’m tired of dropping everything to sign in (a three step process). This app is inconsistent. It worked well last week and now it’s on the blink. Does my company pay for this? It’s a waste.

Response from developer

We have found the latest Apple version will conflict with our secure database which was causing users to be logged off if they didn't have much storage on their devices. We have fixed this to be compatible with iOS 11x. This should resolve the issue on our next release due May 15th, 2018. Thank you.

Good!

Thank you for fixing!

Updated app still lacking

How hard is it to make an app that doesn’t crash constantly? The notification are NEVER correct in any way. Perhaps the most annoying part is that even when my phone is on silent it makes a “swoosh” sound when I send a message, which didn’t help matters during a training class I was attending today. Other colleagues have experienced their phones making random noises from this app while their phones were on silent as well. This app is crap, but we have to use it. So frustrating.

Thank you for the feedback, if you go to settings and turn off Audio notifications it will mute internal sounds. Please let us know if your app is still crashing we do not have reports of this issue? If you have further issues please let us know: support@mediprocity.com

Terrible app, what a headache

Very slow app; slows down phone performance; not even close to efficiency of regular messaging and no reason why it shouldn't be; hard to leave conversations u don't want in; and messages might not be received until next day
Really just the WORST!!!!!!
Really should update and make better, just the WORST!!!!!

PDFs

I can't view PDFs. Sometimes alerts don't show up until hours after a message is received. I use this because I have to, not by choice.

FIve star App

Thank you.

Simple, Easy, Flexible & HIPPA Compliant? Perfect!

Does exactly what it should do. Transfer of patient info, medical records, charts, and pictures securely to medical team and facilities. Love the encryption for HIPPA compliance. A breeze to use, and a clear interface.

Really useful medical app!!

This app is great. You can send encrypted text messages to other physicians and care team members. I recommend it to all my doctor friends!
