Great films, So well organised.

I’m even more impressed with MIFF in 2025 than previous years. Great films and so well organised that booking and plan I g is so simple. I visited the MIFF ticket desk at Hoyts Melbourne Central last week after a MIFF screening to compliment the volunteer staff for their kindness and organisation in helping with my particular needs. Very impressive program and volunteer support. That’s all we need. Thanks MIFF.

Great functionality

This app works so wel, loads quickly, automatically logs me in, easy to get to tickets, automatically brightens the QR codes, love the voting feature and easy to get to blurbs about the films. Great job developers! 🙌

Horror

Endlessly glitching

This app should be good but…

I just spent ages sorting out my Wishlist on my laptop and it apparently doesn’t carry over with my account. You can’t seem to look at films by stream … why do widgets and functionality change so much between the website and app. Infuriating.

The app freezes and closes on me

The app freezes and closes on me, it’s pretty annoying

Thank you

It’s so good to have allocated seats, so we don’t have to wait in a queue in the cold.
It makes the festival experience much more pleasant.
The feast of films gives us great worldly experiences as usual.

MIFF App

I love this app!
I love the design.
It just works!

2024 app doesn’t show dates

No dates on the schedule
No dates or times on purchased tickets

Poor design

Hi developers, please don’t use black text on a date background. It is very hard to read/see, which adds to the frustration of trying to navigate the app

Difficult to read

Cannot read menu as background color of purple blue makes black print difficult to read.

No venue in app

MIFF 2023: app is great except venues disappeared on my tickets. Didn’t know which cinema to go to.

Very annoying-it’s hard to use when the ticketing data is constantly being updated

On

Better than previous years BUT

When exchanging tickets for the same time (different show) this is not possible. It is slow to push update to iOS calendar. The text with the time of film is very light and difficult to read in the “what’s on” menu. Exchanged tickets remain in ios calendar despite updating often for hours , and then really confusing whilst trying to book.

It just doesn’t work

Log in and you get a message saying it is updating ticketing data. And it just keeps chugging and chugging without ever loading up the program. Search for today’s sessions and it says there are none. Try browsing by date and you get nowhere. Hugely disappointing

Don’t update

The mostly bug filled app added another with the latest update 9.4.0; it removed the session’s cinema location from the ticket information - a major break in functionality and usefulness.

Dysfunctional App

The app this year is at atrocious. Continually freezes on opening Search and filtering for films is poor and has resulted in me exiting the app and searching in the website instead. In my tickets it keeps displaying movies I exchanged despite having cancelled then more than 7 days ago. Ticket exchange is not intuitive. And overall it looks average. Such a dysfunctional app that I’m just using the website on my phone as it’s a lot easier experience. I thought having a dedicated app was suppos to make the user experience easier than navigating the website, not more difficult.

Are we still here?

Another year, another bugged out upgrade to the app. Here we go again.

Another year, another disaster

How does this keep happening every year?
App constantly crashes, freezes, logs you out of your account
🤦🏻

Super buggy

I hate being negative, but I’m begging MIFF to fix up the app and the (even worse) website. In 2023 the app constantly freezes, and it’s not very user intuitive. The website is an order of magnitude worse.

What is parsing????

My app gets stuck ‘parsing ticketing data’ every time I open it. I can’t buy or view tix
I’m missing out on MiFF because of a broken app 😭
