What's New in The O

4.4.1

June 18, 2026

The O is now in the Phrontisterion. Photograph a book cover, find everything connected to it, and let the O chart a course through the collection. Search by title, author, or curiosity. No Dewey required. In this update we've fixed various bugs and improved performance in Phrontisterion.

The map needs a “breadcrumb” feature

Hi there the app is mostly really good. It presents really well but the map needs some refinement. In particular. It needs a breadcrumb feature so you can retrace your steps especially now you’ve got Elektra and Phrontisterion. Thanks

Disappointed (AI narration in an art museum…)

MONA is such a brilliant collection of art. The reliance on a smartphone to experience it is incredibly disappointing. Most of us want to be off our phones and experiencing life instead you are forced to be glued to it to read anything about the art. I was further angered by the listen function thinking I could wander around and put my phone down but the listen function is AI narrated! I was livid. Do better MONA, small signs for all artworks and pay a voice actor to narrate your app.

Waste of time

The map doesn’t tell you where anything is. As you move from one room to another there’s always someone blocking traffic in the doorway with his nose buried in his phone, oblivious to surroundings. I stopped using the app halfway through the bottom floor. I don’t need to read commentary by someone who doesn’t know that just because you can see a skull’s teeth doesn’t mean it’s smiling. Skulls can’t smile. They have no lips or facial muscles. Teeth may suggest that a living person is smiling, but on a skull, they’re just teeth.

Bad

I go to museum to spend less time on my phone it’s really annoying to spend so many time on is phone during an exhibition
The old school way with a written texte next to the art piece is always better

Coole Sache
