Extremely helpful resource

I do wish this had funding for the entire app to be free of charge considering it’s a preventative measure for people who can suffer serious health issues due to allergens and pollution.

Please also include a feature/monitoring around the data centres popping up in Melbourne especially West Footscray for the diesel generators. Already we have days of smelling jet fuel and the DC hasn’t even officially come online

Great app for allergy sufferers

I’ve been using this app since a doctor recommended it. Tried the paid version for more features and a yearly subscription for a reasonable fee.
Living in the city, I feel the alerts are great.
Would be nice if they stayed longer on the screen to be read. 4.5 stars

Cant migrate from airrater.

My old password and id wont login to original record of last few years. How do i reset that password so i can access this data

Ad-ridden bloatware

No good. You have prioritised ads over information. Why can’t you (melb uni) rise above this adware nonsense and make app free?

This app has been totally ruined by pretty pictures obscuring the actual info.

This app used to be very simple. It would just bring up warnings and easily intelligible graphics and results. Now a “designer” has tackled it, and the first thing they came up with is a pretty picture of a house as starting point. This conveys zero information and needs an explanation button that says, “What does this mean?” How ridiculous is it to start with a graphic that they clearly know doesn't mean anything to anyone, and then add a button to explain it? To get the actual useful information, you have to scroll down through different screens. Why this information isn’t top dead centre. I don’t know, unless it’s just to make sure you look at the advertising. Overall, the baseline info is useful, but the GUI is an absolute disaster.

Changed

Since the app format changed it’s been ridiculous
I loved this app before they changed it
It would be simple with today’s pollen read now it’s like a maze trying to figure out what the level is on polllen and grass I hate it now

New App Interface 👎🏼👎🏼

The old app interface was much better, go back to that with the new information contained.
The new interface is too busy, full of images that are not relevant and too large.
Definitely not an improvement.

Don’t like new update

I’m not impressed with the new design update. It’s too difficult to navigate and get basic information. The new symbols are confusing and I have to constantly look around for the meaning of the symbols. I’ve dropped the rating from 5 to 1 star, it’s not an app I’ll use anymore if it stays like this. My subscription will be cancelled before due too.

Much better when it was free

Usage, notifications, performance were all better before.

Update ruined a good app

Sadly the new update (late 2025) has destroyed this app.
“Forecast” every day is exactly the same.
Obnoxious ads.
This is a detriment to public health now.

Latest update terrible

The latest update is terrible to navigate it it no longer clear about the forecast of allergen. Now more difficult than ever. Go back to the previous look please

Terrible

Used to be a fantastic app. Now they want $$ and it’s just not worth it. I only used it for the Allergens so I knew when to avoid being near certain plants. This could be detrimental for Asthmatics and anyone with lung issues.

Terrible.

What have you done to this app. Paid my annual subscription but can’t log in. Horrible interface to boot. No support. Heads need to roll.

Fixed what wasn’t broken

This app used to be great. The “redesign” is unfortunately, awful. It hides what you want to know below ads and vague “check conditions” statements.

Fails with older iOS?

Seems to fail with my iOS 15.8 phone when I click for more information on a current status.

“e.toSorted is not a function “

Not precious.

It is not precious.

What happened?

I used to really love this app as it was very helpful but ever since the change of hands I’ve not been able to use my premium account. Tried to use my details on the Airrate website with no success so I cancelled my premium membership that I brought through the App Store then try to upgrade again through the new app and it won’t let me. Response from developer

Hi, we're very sorry for the trouble you have experienced. Can you please get in touch with us at theteam@airhealthlab.com and we'll help you restore your premium subscription. The AirHealth team.

Can’t set up profile

There are buttons missing to complete setting up the profile.
I get to the page that explains newsletters may be available. There is no button to move to the next page to complete profile set up.

No fix yet.

Bugged out

The new interface is obviously full of more data and information but at the expense of simplicity for the end user unfortunately. The profile creation system is completely bugged (missing “save” or “next” buttons) so I can’t even create said profile, and then I couldn’t find anywhere in the app to report a bug or contact the devs. I did send a test notification though lol.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been ironed out beforehand. Also I’d only buy a subscription if it removed the egregious ads. I don’t need to see a full page ad for Asthma every time when I don’t have it.

Response from developer

Apologies for the issues you have experienced and thank you for the feedback. We are currently working on a fix relating to profile creation and it will be resolved in the coming days. There are contact details within the Melbourne Pollen page in the app store (theteam@airhealthlab.com) however we will look to add these details also within the app. Premium subscription does indeed remove the advertisements.

Can’t proceed further

App stuck at newsletter screen and can’t process further, poor testing done before releasing. Please fix it!
