Beautiful

It is a shame that your apps aren’t supported anymore but it still rips even if I only have strings.

Buy This

This is an excellent representation of what the Mellotron sounded like. The Mellotron was a beast to work with. Each note played an eight second tape with three sounds on it. The sounds were changed by a control that allowed you to use one of the three channels. It was ungainly, it was heavy, it was divine.

And in its day there was nothing like it. It sounded like a Lofi representation of whatever instrument or instruments that were being played.

In this app, you get 60+ instruments and they are truly well sampled and sound very familiar to the real Mellotron. If you dared to tour with something like it, it would be very ungainly, the Mellotron and 20 tape sets that would have to be attached and would take God knows how long. So really this is a great, great Plug-in.

I use it all the time. Mellotrons have been one of my favorite instruments since I can remember, and I’m obviously not alone. This collection is really good not only for the sound quality, but for the beautifully sampled instruments available.

Highly recommended.

AUv3 Plug-In PLEASE?!?!?

Nothing would be finer
than an AUv3 plug-in
I'm Streetly Tronin'

It would make me happy
to simply play in my host appy
when I'm Tronin'

Please make it so.

Make it AU3!

Really wanted this to be better. The sound are fine but selecting them is a chore. No real presets which would have been faster.

Says inter app audio etc but should be clearer you have to have audio bus and even then it doesn’t record midi to garage band. Really annoyed at this and the maker should design the instrument to work seemelesslt with GarageBand as an AU. Would not buy again

great idea but some flaws

my main gripe is that it sounds like some heavy audio restoration has been done on some samples (flute particularly) and having them at the higher quality doesn't help much. same reason I wasn't fond of the M3000 app.

update - why does this app like to play the samples flat? why is the keyboard so horrible? missed a big mark with this app, needs a lot to make it perfect.

Bring back the Pad Mode setting!

I really wish they had kept the ‘Pad Mode’ option. Also it’s irritating have to buy this whole new version when the previous version was better.

Sounds beautiful. Variety of great sounds.

The functionality available in the app is quite intuitive, giving decent life and variations to the sounds. Some nice quality of life things too, like being able to use notes to quickly switch presets.

I bought this with the expectation that AUV3 was on its way in the near future. So far it is not here. Will change my rating to 5 stars once that is added.

When you need a tron, this is the one to get

This is a fabulous “tron. AB support, stable, and sounds like it should in all of the quirky ways that you expect: Little extras like “b” voice detune, and the Eq give it that little push over the cliff.

Splendid!

If you lived in, or enjoy the classic sounds of the late 60’s, this Mellotron is what you want. Just a joy to use, and has all the original sounds faithfully reproduced since they came from the original instrument tapes. Interface is well laid out, and maps nicely to midi controls on keyboard. I would request that an update would support Bluetooth MIDI, so that my knobs and pads Akai wireless controller could be used. Thanks!

Fabulous

As a real Mellotron owner, I was intrigued by a digital version, for iPad, of what is an iconic instrument. I have to say it is an impressive App. Using it with a usb MIDI keyboard and feeding the output into my powered monitors, I was impressed by the quality. The banks of sounds are really nice digital versions of the original Mellotron and Chamberlin library.
I have spent quite a bit of time just playing. I know the guys at Streetly and know they quite like this App, even though they are committed to the tape replay system. This is well worth the money, try it and you won’t stop smiling. Highly recommended.

A Mellotron in my pocket.

That SOUND anytime anywhere. The “real” sound.

Bliss at last!!!!!

I’m old now, but all my life starting with the late 60’s I’ve dreamed of having a Mellotron. Not only was the price prohibitive, I’d heard there were issues with tape life and such. I couldn’t believe my ears with the 63’ collection. Total goosebumps! Surprisingly small memory footprint. I thank the developers for making this old hippie’s dream a reality! I can’t wait for my Bluetooth midi adapter to arrive so I can use an actual keyboard. One of the first things I did was phone a friend and play the intro to Court of the Crimson King. Now if I could find a calliope track...hint, hint!

The sound quality is amazing, you won’t be disappointed!

Great app and great value!

Having an affordable and great sounding Mellotron in your pocket and on your iPad seems too good to be true, but this incredible app does both. The addition of an amazing reverb adds a pad-like dimension to the sounds, and the fact that the developer will keep adding instruments for FREE makes this app a great value.

Great

Great. What else can I say. Wonderful. Superb.
Thanks to the developer for the enjoyment I am having and will continue to have.

Streetly Review

I don’t want to rate this 5 stars and just like the original SOPRANOTRON and MELLOTRONICS M3000 50th EDITION both disappeared.
This too might not get future support with future iOS updates/upgrades.
I am going to keep a watch on these developers, especially Apple.
We should have the right to get upgrades and updates not in just the apple store app, but also from the developers’ sites.
I hate spending up to $50 and more in apps to see them all disappear when I do an iOS update either because the developer stopped updating their apps for newer iOS or they rebundled it with less or no additional features.

Sounds Magnificent 😃👍

Do you ever wish you could shrink down your glorious mellotron, put it in your pocket, and use it on the go or wherever? If so, then this may be the app for you 😺📱🎶 Streetlytron is packed full of sampled instruments and choirs, and they sound magnificent on both my iPhone SE and my iPad. But don’t take my word for it.. go put on some headphones and listen to this thing in action in the YouTube video tutorial & demo created by Doug at The Sound Test Room. Cool beans indeed!

Sounds Amazing and Simple to Use

I love this app! It sounds great, there are many different sounds, and connecting to a midi keyboard is simple! Plug in and play. One of the most simple apps I’ve used in terms of midi. The price is right too! A must have.

Amazing

Finally I’m able to produce quality Mellotron sounds from actual recordings! A must for any composer!

Unusable - would like a refund.

Completely unusable. Maybe it worked for previous iPhone versions. I have an iPhone X. Volume is all wrong. No idea what they were trying to do with the UI. SiMply the worst app I’ve ever tried.

It’s a Grave New World

And this app has just made it possible for me to re-produce those perfectly wonderful sounds anywhere instantly...The layout is perfect and intuitive to use, must remember though not to turn the knobs just move horizontally which once you remember works perfectly and easier than trying to turn a virtual knob ah! but of course you’ll be using midi and every control parameter is taken care of there and easily assignable to your own preferences. Ok! I have to get back and find out more about my new toy, NO! This is definitely not a toy! Buy and enjoy...
