If you make music on garage band and you like prog rock then this is the app for you even if you dont have the premium the 3 presets you get are cool and you can have 2 tape tracks play at the same time

Too hard to miss black keys
It’s impossible to hit white keys without accidentally hitting the black keys in between. You don’t have to touch over an actual black key, the app treats everything chromatically. If you try to touch way down at the end of the key to avoid the black key, the app thinks you’re trying to close it, so the whole keyboard starts moving/trying to close the app. Unusable without some sort or other controller, which I don’t have. USELESS.

Love the app but update…
I love this app and have been using it for years. However, with the recent update AUM no longer recognizes it in any of my older projects, essentially telling me it isn’t installed even when it is. Is there a way for this app to be updated so that wouldn’t happen, as this has now damaged dozens of hours of work?

It’s amazing
Except for the fact that I need to pay to get strings, but that aside it’s a really warm and nice sound. Ripped out of the 60s.
Can't turn off app?
Generic keyboard app with no off button. I have to restart my iPhone to shut it down! Not cool!
Sounds great, but midi not working
Title tells the tale. My iPad Pro has many midi inputs (recognized by apps such as Numa Player), but this mellotron app does not see them. Can’t use it if it fails to see the available midi inputs.

La App è fatta bene, molto semplice e intuitiva. I suoni sono perfetti, con quel sapore un po’ antico. Una volta sbloccata la versione completa - il prezzo è più che ragionevole - c’è anche la possibilità di un minimo di editing dei suoni attraverso un inviluppo ADSR e una serie di riverberi. L’unica pecca, ma è un parere soggettivo, è l’estensione della tastiera a circa tre ottave, che poi era effettivamente l’estensione dello strumento originale.
Con un semplice cavo midi si può collegare alla tastiera e il Mellotron è con voi. Ottimo lavoro.

Great app, good sounds and nice little group of FX
This app is a solid solution for anyone looking to add a Mellotron to their instrument list. It sounds great. Definitely recommend the IAP. The FX are handy and the Envelope control is essential. Plus you get a bunch more sounds.

Mellowsound issue
When I open the app, I have no ability to close it and have to turn off iPhone to close it.
Awkward gaps
I love the sound on this instrument, but the downside is if the divider between the white keys is touched even slightly, it triggers the sharps or flats above them, quite a lot. In fact playing on a glass screen (iPad or iPhone) makes it useless, as it’s difficult not to get that gap avoidance perfected. I’m a 6’3” keyboard player with big hands.
This results is the odd randomised note when playing, enough to ruin the playing experience.
This bug prevents me from buying the upgrade version.
I’ve been playing (full sized) synths for over 40 years without issues, except with this app. All other synth apps I have on my devices. don’t do this.
