Sleek, agile and efficient,…

… rather like a cat but considerably better at editing samples.

Until I’d tried Meow, editing audio on an iPad felt quite clunky and erratic, like using a slightly broken and dirty ball-mouse on a Commodore Amiga. This is a different animal.

Overall operation and process is amazingly smooth, responsive and swift. The intelligent zoom is excellent, the ‘snap’ toggle works very well, combined they make Meow especially nice for picking at longer samples. Close editing without ‘snap’ is also simple and accurate to perform, aided by the smooth controls and hi-res waveform display.

By its own admission Meow isn’t overwhelmed with features but in comparison to other audio editing apps I’ve tried / bought on iPad, Meow is much more fluid, precise and swift to use. Essentially it feels like a well-considered and definitive touchscreen app that's been honed for a core purpose and it excels in that.

The only element “lacking" for me isn't something I expected from the app and I mention it as a compliment not a detractor. I bought this purely to edit existing samples without loads of clarting about, and in that it’s brilliant. But the slickness of use is so nice it could be outstanding as a goto "internal quick-sampler" if it were able to record from apps on the same device rather than just the mic.

All said though, it delivers exactly what it promises and does it quite purrrrfectly

Nicely done!

Straightforward audio editor. Does what I need it to do. UI clicks with my monkey brain in a way that many don’t. Meow!

No nonsense, very capable audio editor

After floundering about trying quite a lot of other so called audio editors that were little more than advertising junk I came across this. Exactly what I was looking for to perform things like trimming, gain, fades, loops, recording etc. I love the interface, very snazzy with help function to guide you where needed without ads! Supports dark theme. After ten minutes using it and getting the result I was looking for I purchased without hesitation to get the save and export functions. Great app. Highly recommended. Developer should be proud.

Wastes my battery in my iPad

I just opened the application and after 5 minutes my iPad battery was from 39 to 10 percent! I suggest using TwistedWave.

Very well designed

Nice audio editor which is fast to use. The noise removal tool is also very good, I wish I had tried this earlier as I was editing some field recordings with microphone hiss and background wind and traffic noise and this removed it easily.

Unless I am missing how to do it, it would be useful to process the left and right channels individually - to balance the sound or select louder bits on one channel that can be reduced in volume.
