App broken
Love the dictionary. However, I am running iOS 26.5.2 and the app freezes and becomes non-functioning every time I log into my account (I pay for ad-free). I can then delete the app, redownload and it will work (with ads) until I log in again. I contacted support but the problem persists. Ridiculous.

I have been using this app for 15+ years. It has everything you need. If you write, it’s a must. If you like to expand your vocabulary it’s perfect.

I love looking up words quickly on my Merriam-Webster app. I would say that almost daily I’m on the app and am happy with it. Another time I use the app is when my family is playing word games. It’s especially helpful. I’ve definitely learned new words and their meanings all the years I’ve been using the app. Thank you Merriam-Webster!

I’m a grown adult
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but as an American adult male, who puts on his big boy pants 2 legs at the same time. But learning can be fun again! I started with the word of the day and then ended up learning 3 more words in the process.

Definitions are very limited in their explanation for kids!!

It’s on the front page of my iPhone . It’s probably the 2nd most used app there. I happen to like words too. Use it daily and refer to it always.
I have loved words ever since as a kid I used to read “Word Power” or “Power Words” in Reader’s Digest. I would try to use any new words as I became aware of them. I loved it.
It , RD , always came to our house. It had really good short stories , silly comic jokes and some of the most interesting tidbits of information.

Quite often when I speak I am using words that I have a vague sense of their meaning, but not always a firm grasp. This is a great app to have no matter what your age is, you will need it or someone will say “Do you have the Webster Dictionary App” on your Phone? You will know exactly what your friend is asking for!

Frustrating circular definitions for students
As a student who reads a lot, I downloaded this app to help expand my vocabulary. Unfortunately, Merriam-Webster constantly uses circular definitions. Too often, when I look up a word, the definition just contains the vocabulary word itself or another version of it. It is incredibly frustrating to look up a word just to be given the same word as the answer.
