What's New in mesa recipes

1.4

August 6, 2026

This is the update that makes mesa fit the way your household actually eats. mesa on iPad, rebuilt. A new Home screen opens on what matters right now — tonight's dinner with one tap to start cooking, your week, and what's left to buy. Your week and grocery list now travel with you as a side panel from any tab, so you can plan while you browse. Cooking mode puts the whole step list beside the step you're on. Dinner isn't the only meal. If you want mesa to plan breakfast and lunch as well as dinner, you can now turn that on. Set which meals matter on which days — big weekend breakfasts, packed weekday lunches, dinner every night — and mesa plans only what you asked for. Leave it off and nothing changes. Two dinners, one night. Kids eating earlier or eating different? You can now plan more than one meal for the same night — the grown-ups' dinner and the kids' — and mesa keeps them as one cooking job rather than two. Enter a child's age and mesa also badges age-relevant food-safety guidance from AAP, USDA, FDA and CDC materials on any recipe that calls for it. It badges; it never hides. Eating patterns, recognized and respected. Low-FODMAP, Lactose-Free, Low-Oxalate, Low-Purine, Low-Residue and Gluten-Free can now be selected per person. Recipes that may not fit are shown with a clear note about what's in them — never quietly removed — and where a food has a published tolerable serving, mesa shows the amount so you can check your own portion. mesa can also suggest a swap that brings a recipe back in line. Diet definitions draw on published guidance from recognized medical organizations, and every source is listed in the app. mesa ai finally knows your cookbook. "Help me pick a dish" and "Quick weeknight" now run the same planner behind Plan My Week, and they draw on the recipes you've saved — not just ours. They also account for what's already on your week, so you don't get four chicken dinners in a row. A cookbook you can navigate. The cookbook opens on a map of what you actually have — by protein, by course, by cuisine — instead of one endless grid. Heart the recipes you come back to and filter to just those. More you'll notice: • A "tonight" card on the iPhone meal plan with everything that night needs in one place • Timers that ring through silent mode and Focus (iOS 26) • Widgets that follow the time of day, and let you rate a meal without opening the app • Recipe import straight from the share sheet, anywhere in iOS • Handoff and Siri Suggestions for a cooking session in progress • Adventurousness and effort dials in your flavor profile • Occasional tips that point out features you haven't tried, and stop once you have Under the hood. Another reliability pass on household sync, including a fix where two people rating the same meal could each overwrite the other's tally. Plus a long list of smaller corrections across planning, groceries and cooking mode. Thank you for cooking with mesa.

User reviews

Game changer. 11/10 recommend!

It sounds cliche, but trust me: Mesa recipes is the best app I’ve downloaded in a very long time. It completely changed my relationship with cooking, in a way I never thought possible. Now it feels enjoyable and worth it. No other app is dialed in to what people ACTUALLY want, the way this app is.

Every Mesa generated recipe has fit all of my household’s needs, down to every detail, and tasted remarkably good (truly, 100% of them). I’ve even used this for a few dinner parties now. The personalized meal planning feature is especially a game changer. And the icing on the cake for me: seamlessly importing all of my mom’s handwritten recipes!

If you’ve ever found yourself saying “Ugh I don’t have an air fryer…” or “That definitely did not take 25 minutes” or “My healthy meals don’t really have flavor…” then this is for you.
