What's New in Meshtastic

2.7.16

July 5, 2026

* Redesigned map: a faster native map with downloadable offline basemaps for areas with no connection, plus trace routes shown on the map with a guided 3D flyover. * Waypoint geofences: add a radius or bounding box to a waypoint and get alerted when nodes enter or leave. * Local display names: give any node your own nickname, shown throughout the app and kept on your device. * Node status messages: see what a node is broadcasting right on its card and detail view. * Packet signing (firmware 2.8+): verified signed broadcasts now show a shield. * LoRa region and preset compatibility (firmware 2.8+): presets are filtered to those legal for your region, with warnings on licensed bands. * Region-aware firmware downloads with an automatic fallback. * Support for lockdown-mode radios, including passphrase unlock and session controls. * Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) added. * Copy trace route output, plus many stability and performance improvements.

🙏

Приложение классное, но с последним обновлением на iPhone 15 начало глючить (тормозить очень сильно) буду признателен если поправите в скором времени

Hands down the best mesh network system

This app is incredibly easy to use and backed by a huge community. I use it when camping and to keep in touch with my house when I’m out in the mountains.

Bug report

Environmental telemetry over mesh is patchy, sometimes it shows up most the time it doesn’t. When directly connected it works perfect. My radios are RAK.

most recent update broken

most recent update has caused so many problems - laggy interface, constant crashing… i just want it to work since i can’t install the previous version

Latest version so buggy!

Ugh. Meshtastic ran fine for me. This latest update is chock full of bugs though. Map keeps recentering to South Pacific Ocean. Incoming messages don’t update unless I back out and back into channel. Doesn’t reconnect to my device half the time.

Really wish I could downgrade. Hope they fix this soon!

FAQ

What is Meshtastic?

Meshtastic is an open-source application that creates a decentralized, off-grid mesh network using low-power LoRa radios. It allows users to send text messages without relying on traditional cellular or WiFi infrastructure.

How does Meshtastic work?

The app leverages LoRa radios to establish a mesh network, meaning devices can relay messages for each other. This creates a decentralized communication system that can extend beyond direct line-of-sight and function in areas with no internet or cell service.

Is Meshtastic free to use?

Yes, Meshtastic is an open-source project and is free to download and use. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements associated with the application itself.

What are the main use cases for Meshtastic?

Meshtastic is ideal for situations where reliable communication is critical but traditional networks are unavailable. This includes outdoor activities like hiking and camping, emergency preparedness, and communication in remote or disaster-stricken areas.
