Works OK, but August update deleted message history
August update seems to work more or less OK—except it deleted the entire history of past messages from all channels, as well as any older nodes in the list. And the map no longer shows range circles (EDIT: give them time to show up). Minor thing: the node list no longer had a total number of nodes at the top just “…” where apparently a 4 digit total no longer can fit. Tip: drag the edge of the node list and you can make it bigger to show the number. (This is on iPad.)

A really cool technology
It’s a great app for camping communication, large property communication, or communication around cities and even regions if you’ve got a big enough mesh. If you’re new to the mesh LoRa technology, think of it a little bit like walkie talkies but instead of talking, you text, and texts can be encrypted and sent over private groups (similar to group chats on a phone). But at the same time, nodes can receive others messages and repeat them.

The notification behavior for this app is so bad. Can’t control the grouping, can’t unfurl a list of notifications without selecting one. Can’t control them via watch app. Can’t decide to turn on notifications for certain things (DMs versus Channel versus New Node detected); I don’t need a notification on my watch every time I detect a node; but would like one for a DM.

Hands down the best mesh network system
This app is incredibly easy to use and backed by a huge community. I use it when camping and to keep in touch with my house when I’m out in the mountains.
Bug report
Environmental telemetry over mesh is patchy, sometimes it shows up most the time it doesn’t. When directly connected it works perfect. My radios are RAK.

most recent update has caused so many problems - laggy interface, constant crashing… i just want it to work since i can’t install the previous version
Latest version so buggy!
Ugh. Meshtastic ran fine for me. This latest update is chock full of bugs though. Map keeps recentering to South Pacific Ocean. Incoming messages don’t update unless I back out and back into channel. Doesn’t reconnect to my device half the time.
Really wish I could downgrade. Hope they fix this soon!

This app is not working Ios 18.21 Newest meshtastic dl app crashes when a message is sent on BT and TLS
Zero stars not compatible with iOS versions it flagshiped with
Have to drop a low score. It requires you to update now to iOS 17. It worked fine on iOS 16 on my past devices. I had to reset my phone and redownload everything and the app refuses to install. Need to have some compatibility. Meshtastic programmers need to get it together and support compatibility. I’m running a brand new iPhone SE3 so my phone is not old.

This app is so broken. Laggy, doesn’t load sometimes, refreshes node list seemingly at random locking the entire phone up. Love the protocol, hate the app
