About

About to drill into a wall? Check for nails, screws or steel studs first. Metal Detector Pro uses your phone's built-in magnetic field sensor (magnetometer) to help you find nearby ferrous metal. Slowly sweep your phone over the surface: as you get closer to metal, the beep speeds up, the phone vibrates and the gauge shifts from green to amber to orange. FEATURES • Live gauge: field strength (µT) and deviation from your reference • Sound and vibration alerts that speed up as you get closer • 10-second history chart with threshold line • Adjustable sensitivity threshold • One-tap calibration EXTRAS (unlocked by watching a short ad) • Metal Direction Arrow: shows which way the deviation points • 3-Axis View: X, Y and Z components with live charts • EMF Meter: µT and mG units, minimum, maximum and average • Record & Share: record a 60-second scan and share the chart as an image • Custom Beeps: Sonar, Geiger and Retro The core detector is always free and never locked. WHAT IT FINDS Objects containing iron, steel or nickel, such as nails, screws, steel studs, rebar and steel items. Range is a few centimetres. WHAT IT CAN'T FIND Gold, silver, copper and aluminium are not magnetic, so a phone sensor can't detect them. It can't scan underground. HOW TO USE 1. Hold the phone flat, away from metal, and tap "Calibrate". 2. Keep the top of the phone close to the surface and sweep slowly. 3. As the beep speeds up and the gauge turns orange, you're getting closer. NOTES • Requires a device with a magnetometer. The app tells you on launch if the sensor is missing. • Magnets in phone cases, speakers and nearby electronics can affect readings. • The EMF Meter is not a replacement for a professional instrument. The phone sensor measures static and low-frequency fields and can't accurately measure 50/60 Hz mains fields. This app is ad-supported.
