About

Plan a metro network on real city maps and watch a city start to ride it. Population and travel are estimated from real map data. Residents choose between scooter, car, bus, walking, cycling and your metro by door-to-door time: a well-placed station fills up, while a line that wanders or runs too few trains loses riders to other lines or back to the road. BUILD • Place stations and draw lines on the map; extend, insert, move or remove stations • Automatic station names from local places and intersections, which you can rename • Heavy rail, medium capacity or light rail, with a choice of train length • Taiwanese cities can start a new plan with the existing national railway in one tap, plus high-speed rail in Taipei • Undo and redo OPERATE • Peak trains per line, off-peak as a percentage; headway follows from the trains and the round trip • Short-turn and express services, with expresses overtaking slower trains at passing stations • Too few trains leave riders on the platform; too many raise operating costs • Construction is free; finances are judged by the farebox ratio, fare revenue divided by running costs SIMULATION • Continuous time with morning and evening peaks • Riding habits build up, and daily ridership grows with them • Follow any train or passenger across the network • The same network always gets the same official result STATS • Figures for the city, districts, neighborhoods, lines, stations, trains and passengers • Trends in ridership, mode share, farebox ratio and quality score • Quality score broken down into waiting, transfers, crowding and riders left behind • Hourly entries and exits at each station CINEMA VIEW AND SHARING • Tilted 3D shots of buildings and trains, including Follow cam, Cab, window and platform views • On-board station display; track shown elevated, at-grade or underground • Map themes: Blueprint, Paper, Night and Satellite • Share cards of stations, lines, trains, cities and challenges in five aspect ratios, or a short video of a line CHALLENGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS • Planning challenges in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Hong Kong, such as Small and Fine, Two by Ten and Light Rail City, with goals for ridership, quality or farebox ratio • 63 achievements for network design, ridership and mode share, viewable in Game Center CITIES Taipei (with New Taipei, Keelung and Taoyuan), Taichung, Chiayi (city and county), Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Macao UNLOCKING Taipei is free. Other cities, medium capacity and light rail, 100x speed, map themes and extra line colors each unlock permanently with one ad. Each city starts with one plan, and ads add up to three; one ad also lets every line add a short-turn or express service. The Unlock all in-app purchase opens everything, with five plans per city, two extra services per line and no interstitial ads. ALSO • No timer and no budget cap • Everything works without an account; sign in with Apple or Google to sync plans and achievements across devices • Interface in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Indonesian, German, French, Portuguese and Spanish; street and station names appear in Chinese Passengers and ridership are simulated estimates from map data, not real figures. Metro Master is an independent game, not affiliated with Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, MTR Corporation or any other operator.

What's New in Metro Master

26.10.31

October 31, 2026

• Branch lines: a line can now branch off at any middle station and share its trunk track; services can run on the branch only, and branches, services and off-peak can be set to 0%. Branches also work in challenges. • New cities: Osaka, Sapporo and Fukuoka in a new Japan section on Home, plus Hsinchu (Hsinchu City and County), expandable into Miaoli and Taoyuan. • Leaderboards: sign in and open them from the Account page. Each city has Unlimited, Break-even 100%+ and Challenges boards showing the top 50 and your own rank; players who bought Unlock all can set an account name. • Challenges: during a challenge, the Operate tab lists each goal below the four figures and shows whether it is met. • Building: stations can now be as close as 100 m; tap a line name to rename it, or its color swatch to change the color; off-peak % is disabled when only 1 train runs at peak. • Out-of-station transfers: two stations within walking distance now connect, shown as a dashed line on the map. • Cinema view: new Overhead, Cab, Left and Right cameras; platforms show the next train in each direction, and the on-board display steps through the next stop, transfers and arrival. • Staggered timetables: short-turn, express and all-stops services are spaced out; an express that catches a slower train follows behind it. • Demand gaps: the Stats tab shows a heat map of people who still ride scooters or drive and cannot walk to a station, with light yellow arrows showing where they are heading. • Achievements: new city achievements for Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung and Chiayi; share achievements now need 5%, 10% and 20%, Every City Runs needs 5% in every city including the three Japanese cities, and the three quality achievements need a 5% share. Achievements you have earned are kept, and the Achievements page shows the figure you reached. • More realistic riders and population: travel choices are tuned to each area's map, and population is now far less overstated in rural areas. Older plans are rescored under the new rules and some challenge goals are adjusted; achievements you have earned are kept. • Home and Settings: on phones, swipe the city cards to switch cities; the Cities page in Settings now uses city cards that unlock in place; in-game settings have moved to the toolbox. • Power saving: a new Power saving switch in Settings, which also turns on automatically in Low Power Mode or when the device is struggling. With it on, platforms show how many riders are waiting, in yellow where riders cannot get on, and the map is simplified to reduce heat. • Notifications: notices, achievement unlocks and tips share one color scheme and appear in turn at the top. • Account and sync: a new Account button at the top right of Home; the Account page lists plans not yet uploaded or downloaded, cloud saves you have not downloaded can be deleted, and a full cloud is flagged; when a new version is out, the game saves first and then reloads. • Restore purchases: checks your synced purchases first, and shows Canceled in Settings if you cancel. • Fixes: riders stuck at stations on short-turn and express return trips; platform queues that kept growing on short lines; Done not responding in the share preview; the last city card out of reach on tablets; occasional slow cloud sync on iPhone.
