What's New in Metrya

2.11.22

October 17, 2026

PACE OF AGING Bio age shows how old your body looks today. Pace of aging shows which way your trends are heading. A pace of 0.9x means your body is aging about 0.9 years for every calendar year. 1.0x is the calendar pace. It looks at the last 12 months of VO2 max, resting heart rate, HRV, steps and sleep regularity. VO2 max counts most. A signal with too little data is left out, never filled in. It needs 12 weeks of data before the first estimate. Until then you see Learning, with what is being collected. After that it updates once a month, so a good or bad day does not move it. It is an estimate from your watch trends, not a lab test. The screen shows a likely range, what moves your pace, a month-by-month chart and the signal worth moving first. If Bio age and pace point in different directions, the screen says so. You find it in Bio age. Pace of aging is Pro. BIO AGE: VO2 MAX COUNTS DIFFERENTLY In Bio age (Grounded), VO2 max now counts on a gentler curve, based on long-term research. Each 1 mL/kg/min above or below the typical value for your age and sex counts for about 0.12 years, up to 3 years. Before, a reading a little above typical already gave the full 3 years. The model also uses the middle value of your last 6 weeks of readings, not only the newest one. So your Bio age may change. If you are fit, it may go up. If your VO2 max is low, it may go down. Your Progress chart is recalculated the new way, up to a year back. The 7-day, 30-day and 90-day changes on the VO2 max screen now follow the trend line. One low reading no longer shows as a rise. LIGHT BALANCE Light balance shows how much daylight you got today, against a goal. Apple Watch measures it and writes it to Health. The page also shows how much came before 10:00, and your last 7 days. The goal starts at 60 minutes, and you can change it. A day counts up to 1.5 times the goal, so one long day does not hide a dull one. Days without watch data are left out. There is a new Daylight card on Today, on by default under Stress. You can move or hide it in Customize. The page is also in Activity > Recover. Light balance is free. Mornings and sleep, which compares your nights after bright and dim mornings, is Pro. HEART RATE ZONES FROM APPLE HEALTH On iOS 27, Metrya uses the heart rate zones from Apple Health. These are the same zones your Apple Watch shows. They are set automatically from your age and resting heart rate, or by you in Health. Time in zones and training load now match your Watch. Each workout uses the zones it was recorded with. A workout without zones of its own uses the zones you have now, so your training load and Training status may change once. On iOS 26 or earlier, or with no zones set, nothing changes. Zones are estimated from your age, as before.

Having hit 60 years

Having nothing to lose I decided to monitor my health, this app has filled gaps and using AI to interpret the data has been fun, still dying but having fun monitoring it

Love it

After version update the app features are looking promising. Very easy to use love it so far!!

Great so far

An alternative to Bevel and Athylitic that seems to be spot-on. I’ll update this review after a couple weeks…

Response from developer

really appreciate! This is community-driven application so if you have any suggestions how to make this app better - new features, changes how existing features work, etc - or any bugs please do not hesitate to contact me. let's make this app as good as possible! :)

Trial isn’t working

Activated the free trial and completed the steps to incorporate the AI assistant but it’s not recognizing that pro has been activated. Keeps asking me to subscribe to activate pro features, then my phone confirms I’m subscribed. And the cycle starts over again.

Response from developer

So sorry that the free trial didn't work as expected! We’ve already released a fix in the most recent update. We’d like to offer you something for the trouble, so please send us an email (radek@jozefowicz.dev) so we can help you out

Game changer for health data nerds

Connects perfectly with Apple Health, shows trends that Apple’s native app hides, and the AI chat answers specific questions like 'Why was my HRV low last night?' Zero servers, total privacy.
