Nr. 1 you HAVE to switch of your VPN (which it will not tell you, you have to guess)
And it’s all what I can advise you…
It takes you to the point where it ask you to connect the plug and is not recognised connection (CHdeMo).
I didn’t believe all negative comments but YES, IT DOESN'T WORK.

Won’t connect to service
Downloaded app to use car wash. All registered but will not open relevant option to initiate use of car wash. Waste of time.
Unable to register
APP is really bad, slow and clunky. Got to the password stage and it kept glitching.
Tried to use my card on my phone direct and it won’t accept that at the actual station. Someone advised me you need a physical card. I drove off to another charging station.

Card payment at car wash frozen so quickly download the app after sitting waiting for 20 minutes and the buttons don't allow you to purchase a car was to redeem a code. Waste of time.
Don’t download
Horrible app. It simply doesn’t work. It can’t find any charging stations despite clearly being shown on the in app map. Don’t waste your time
Don’t Bother
If you’re an MG EV owner looking to charge your car then avoid MFG charging stations. The app itself is slow, won’t talk to my password manager, often loses connection and gives no guidance when something goes wrong. Two attempted charging sessions failed to connect to my EV with no reason given. The app is, however, highly efficient when taking prepayments and currently owes me £80. Don’t bother.

Rubbish
This app just doesn’t work and it apparently had bug fixes today, which clearly never worked. It never connects to my car.
Potential data breach
It is possible to access receipts from other users who share the same last 4 digits of their credit card as yours when searching for your receipt.
I found a receipt for someone who charged up in Cambridgeshire while I was in the Peak District.
Currently in discussion with customer service. Awaiting resolution to this or will raise concern with financial ombudsman.
Also issues trying to get the Visa verify page to work when uploading a new credit card.
It’s a real shame as the chargers are very fast.

Waste of time
Absolutely wasted my time trying to connect- very stressful as I was low on charge so went to an mfg charging point as a last resort. Wouldn’t connect. Pointless company
Absolutely Rubbish
The ‘updated’ app simply doesn’t work. As a company you have invested huge amounts of money into your charging stations, yet your app work. IONITY subscription is cheaper & their app works
Absolute garbage!
First time using MFG. Pulled up, downloaded the app, filled in all the details, tried to connect twice. Nothing. Other than two £40 prepayments pending at the bank! Gave up on the app and used contactless. That’s charged me £45 prepayment so now have £125 pending at my bank! That £80 better not come out of my account or we’ll be having words!!!

Who in 2026 blocks password managers? What was your thinking? Gave up trying to register.
Constantly crashes
When trying to get to Carwash QR section , app is constantly crashes and closes so cant use to scan for the carwash purchases.
Easy to use but..
Worked just fine but not happy about the pre authorisation fee! And the fact they keep it in their account for two days+!

Good chargers, bad App
Used MFG twice in the last two days and both times the app crashing out just after you start a charge so you have to phone them to cancel your charging session. Basic app usability doesn’t seem to be mastered by these guys!!
