What it doesn’t mention (as far as I can see) is the accuracy of the VO2max estimate. I think it overestimates mine by over 10% when compared to lab tests about 18 months ago when I think I was at least as fit as I am now. I know I can redo the lab test and MIA will enter this value into the app.
Additionally, the changes in VO2max estimates don’t correlate with the swings in performance on a Wattbike where I record heart rate and Wattage. So for example, I’m just recovering from a viral infection and my performance plummeted but there was just a slight reduction in VO2max.
But generally a motivating and good app as long as you accept that the specific figures are approximations for each person.
Trying to figure out exactly how this works
Everyone is telling me this must be on purpose as to be motivational. I can’t see how that would be a great idea.
