What's New in Micro Kitty

3.2.0

January 15, 2025

*New! Companion Apple Watch app available! Monitor your steps, paw points, and distance covered via your watch, using data sent from your phone, so you can easily check your steps. The watch app does not collect its own step data, so it relies on the parent app being open on your phone (it can be in the background and/or locked however). Opening the watch app before the phone app will help ensure an initial update of step data. The speed of step updates after that is dependent upon Apple's use of Bluetooth and optimization for power.

Why is the ‘winter scene’ item not how it looks in the store?

Was there a mix up in the items? I spent ages saving for the winter scene item!!!! :(

Cute premise, but doesn’t quite deliver.

I love the idea behind this game, it’s very cute. The artwork is cute too. But the gameplay is very bare-bones with not much to do but keep your cat fed and watered and buy new decorations. Needing to actually take care of the cat is kind of stressful for me, but that might be because I have a cat in real life and I didn’t enjoy the added pressure of needing to keep another animal satisfied.

I would have given this game 3 stars, but I also wasn’t a fan of the fact that you seem to only get paw points if you walk at least a mile on a given day. That means you can really only play this game on days where you are exercising over a sufficient distance for the game to reward you. I have been walking a dog while I had this game installed, but our walks never quite seem to cover a mile according to my phone, so I have not been able to buy anything from the in-game store.

So I give this game points for effort and cuteness, but I think the gameplay needs some improvements to make it a decent, rewarding way to gamify walking.

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to deliver a review, and providing candid critique. I am sorry you have not had a positive experience with the app and its features - your thorough feedback will ensure significant improvement in its next update. The premise of coin award quantities was based on daily goal of 10,000 steps (with a minimum of 1,000 steps) and will be reconsidered per your feedback, as will the impact of possible variations in step data. While cat care is an intrinsic element of the app, planned updates to interactions and gameification will hopefully lighten the obligation and enhance the enjoyment of using the app. While this original concept was very minimal, I hope to transform this into an app you can enjoy. I hope once these updates arrive you will see the positive impact of your review in action. :)
