Sign in nightmare

This is my first time writing a review for anything. Let me say this is the worst experience on an app in my life. Here’s the problem I have a school account that I am signed into but need to do this two step verification. Couldn’t be the worst thing in the world right? I open the app on I sign in with my password then it says use code on the app. Well I’m already in the app and stuck on the page so how can I get back to the app to see the code while not losing the page? The answer is you can’t I have spent a week. A week trying to figure this out I’m not an old head either I know some tech stuff I have watched YouTube videos I have sent trouble shoots to these people no response this app being rated 4.7 stars has to be some typo or fake reviews because who tf likes doing this dumb two step verification nonsense in the first place and now it doesn’t even work great job the scammers online have a better shot of getting into my account than I do.

Stupid

Bought new phone. Trying to login to MS accounts. I'm in MS Authenticator, and asks me to authenticate in the app I'm in. Endless loop of stupidity.

Added confusion

Add nonsense that only seems to protect me from me

Safe

I appreciate the lengths at which accounts are secured, it definitely makes me feel better about any human initiated access attempts

Good

Missing watch app

This is a good standard Authenticator app compatible with many applications. All that’s missing is the ability to tap approval on the Apple watch so I don’t have to take the phone out of my pocket each time. Other Authenticator apps are watch compatible.

Horrible app doesn’t work with Microsoft’s own products like Outlook or Teams

The worst app ever developed by Microsoft. It locks me out of my email constantly and especially when I upgrade my phone. I set everything up to use my Authenticator app and when the app doesn’t send a notification (which is all the time) I spend a lot of time trying to recover my account access. Built half heartedly and not well supported. Really frustrating to use it.

Goofy app

This ties in with all the Microsoft office apps all in one. When asked to use Authenticator on any other windows app, it brings you to this app, forcing you to finish your sign in here and then bricking you from being able to ACTUALLY sign in because it gives you the code to sign in on your app, but your sign in process was supposed to be completed on Authenticator, with no where to actually input the security code. And if you try to restart the process it just locks you out.

Looping

When I try to sign in to Authenticator, it wants to send be verified using, wait for ,... Authenticator!!!

! Absolutely Miserable

I’m forced to use this miserable piece of garbage by my employer. Recently purchased a new iPhone. Transferred contents of old phone to new phone - no problem. Want to look at Outlook for work. Two hours of my personal time, wasted, looking at Google, uninstalling, reinstalling, and jumping through hoops, as this miserable piece of garbage gives absolutely no instruction or indication whatsoever of what one needs to do to keep looking at Outlook on their new phone. Just one of the reasons I threw my PC in the garbage and replaced it with a Mac. Thanks, M$

Block and Track Please

I have noticed during the day my account requests for me to approve a login I never requested. 1) from where did it originate - no way to tell. 2) add a feature to auto decline it for some time because it will be every 5 minutes. Other than that. Great product. Does what you expect.

So terrible

I hate Microsoft

Not well thought out

This app has been nothing but a thorn in my side, I needed to sign in to my work email to access my Authenticator to get into my email and obviously you can’t do that without having access to the authentication app so obviously really good security but if you don’t have a loophole your account is essentially lost

Muy complicated

App makes no sense

Use this app for school and it just makes life harder. Can only get into my accounts through this app but can't sign in to this app without already being signed in to said app. How does this make any sense?

Too hard

Too hard to use and too easy to get locked out

I hate it

Terrible

Terribly designed app

Ridiculous that we have to deal with this garbage in 2026. No longer sending login notifications. After reinstalling the app, you can no longer login because logging into authenticator requires authenticator. This is the quality of app design today?

Doesn’t work on Apple Watch

Doesn’t work on Apple Watch after latest update. Also restore of backup caused me to have to setup all of my 2fa again. Stay far away. Keeps asking me to review it constantly when I’m trying to authenticate. It’s like it’s on purpose.
