Neat idea generator
It’s got a decent amount of compositional options you can have the engine apply to a motif in order to change it. I was able to get some pretty musical phrases out of it.
While it has depth, it also feels limited in a way that shortcuts its potential. So far as I could figure out, you can’t create your own scales or chord progressions in order to affect the motif generation.
You also can’t create your own motifs, which I think is a missed opportunity. You can generate or pick starting motifs from the library, but you can’t import or create ones in a piano roll or staff so that you can have the engine change them.
Improvements I'd like to see to make this a truly top notch app:
* Let the user import, categorize, and save their own motifs to the library-- import midi and musicxml files, or allow creation on a piano roll.
* Let the user pick which motifs the Markov function learns from (including imported motifs)
* Let the user define their own time signature beyond the 4/4, 3/4, 2/4 and 6/8 choices currently available.
* Add more complete options for Feel. Right now it's very limited to straight 16ths, 32, 8T and 16th shuffle. Why not let the user choose from a wide variety like most daws do. Right now it's missing : 1/4T, 1/8, 1/8D, 1/16T, 1/16D 1/32T, 1/64
* Let the user create and add their own song form templates.

Not ready for prime time t
This app is difficult to understand and there is no manual, changing the settings doesn't change the melody most of the time. Not impressed with this.

Thank you for the honest review! Please check out the latest version—we’ve fixed several issues, added a dot on the Develop button when changes are pending, and included a full Help manual plus a short first-launch guide. We’d really appreciate it if you gave it another try!
