About

Midiary is an offline workbench for Standard MIDI Files: open a .mid, see everything inside it, audition it, and export it cleaned. INSPECT - Format, division (metrical or SMPTE), track count, duration, byte size - A real tempo map — every change plotted and integrated, so tick 9,480 has a correct wall-clock time even across three tempo changes - Time signatures, key signatures, and markers, each placed in time TRACKS - Per-track cards: name, channels, programs, note count, note range, controller and pitch-bend counts - Findings per track — including hanging notes, detected by actually matching every note-on to its note-off PIANO ROLL - Every note drawn to scale, coloured by channel, velocity as intensity - Zoom from overview to detail; octave guides and time rulers - Hanging notes drawn in warning orange, running to the edge EVENT DESK - Every event in the file with tick AND seconds, filterable by track and kind - Note names, CC numbers, program changes, pitch bend values, meta text AUDITION - Built-in playback with a transport bar, so you can hear what you are reading EXPORT - A cleaned .mid: End-of-Track repaired, hanging notes closed, every status byte explicit for maximum portability - The complete event list as CSV for spreadsheets or scripts Everything runs on this device. No account, no uploads, no tracking. Import a file and the app tells you the truth about it — including what is broken.

What's New in Midiary

2.0

August 28, 2026

Midiary 2.0 is a ground-up rebuild around a real Standard MIDI File engine. - A full SMF parser: format 0/1/2, every channel message, meta events, sysex, running status, SMPTE and metrical time — with structural damage named, never hidden - A real tempo map: every tempo change integrated, so ticks convert to wall-clock time correctly across changes - Piano roll: every note drawn to scale, channel-coloured, zoomable — hanging notes flagged in orange and traced to the edge - Track cards: channels, programs, note range, CC and bend counts, per-track findings - The event desk: every event with tick and clock time, filterable by track and kind - Audition playback with a transport bar - Clean export: End-of-Track repaired, hanging notes closed, explicit status bytes — plus a CSV dump of the entire event list - A bundled three-track demonstration piece, generated by the app's own writer If 1.0 disappointed you, 2.0 is the app its name promised. Every claim above is in the app, testable with your own files.
