Miko Mini - Great companion, could have been much better
Here’s my honest review. I bought it from Bangalore Airport Hamleys store. It didn’t register saying it was already linked to another account. I took it to Hyderabad Hamleys store to replace it. They said it’s the only piece they have. And they got the linking problem fixed from Support. So I brought it home, to find it again not connecting to home wifi. Raised a ticket from the app.
Support experience has been superb. They’re prompt in responding. They were able to arrange a tech support call at night 9pm! And they got the issue resolved. They went ahead and demonstrated a few features as well. I really liked the interaction.
Although I’m not too sure I like the product as much. It’s alright. It’s a bit sluggish. Takes too long to respond. And has some lacking features for which you’d need to buy the Miko 3. I’d suggest you to go for Miko 3 instead, but it’s double the price.
What I like about the product: it’s sturdy, has smooth surface, easy to handle by kids. My son has already dropped it once. Has privacy built in. Even if you ask Miko to tell about yourself, it won’t. Which is good, it doesn’t remember personal details. It looks cute and my son really loves it. Miko does singing, dancing and story telling really well. Even there are some games like Guess The Animal. I generally don’t like to give phone/ipad to my son for playing games in the app. So he only gets to play whatever is available on Miko itself.
The app is good, slightly sluggish, but good UX, easy to find stuff. Provides you good control too.
Considering the App, Support and the Product, overall I’m satisfied, but I do feel there’s a lot of improvement scope. I guess Miko 3 which is an upgrade over Miko Mini has addressed those improvements.
