About

Your miles, your phone, your money. MileClaim records your drives automatically and turns them into an IRS-ready mileage log - with no account, no subscription, and no server. BUILT FOR UNITED STATES FEDERAL TAXES MileClaim uses the IRS standard mileage rates and produces Schedule C Part IV figures. It is not set up for other countries' mileage schemes - if you file outside the US, the rates it applies will not be the ones you need. THERE IS NO SERVER Most mileage trackers charge $60-120 a year and keep your location history on their computers. MileClaim has none. Your trips are written to a single file on your iPhone. We cannot read them, because there is nowhere for them to go. IT DETECTS DRIVES ON ITS OWN Leave it alone and it works. MileClaim notices when you start driving and records the trip by itself - no timer to remember, no button to press. It leans on the motion coprocessor instead of running GPS all day, so it costs very little battery. SWIPE TO SORT Swipe a drive right for business, left for personal. There is a deck for catching up on a whole week, and you can select a fortnight and classify it in one go - with undo, because one tap should not silently rewrite a year. WORK SHIFTS, FOR GIG DRIVERS Tap Start Work Shift, or set up a Shortcuts automation that starts one when your driver app opens, and the drives MileClaim detects are recorded as Business for you. Each one says so on its trip screen and can be reclassified any time. A shift only fills in drives you have not classified yet, and it ends on its own after twelve hours, so a forgotten shift cannot quietly claim your weekend. BUILT FOR A TAX RETURN - IRS standard rates built in, keyed by date, so a mid-year rate change is handled correctly - Schedule C Part IV figures, ready to transcribe - Commuting tracked separately, because line 44b asks for it - Per-vehicle reporting, because Schedule C is filed one vehicle at a time THE RECORD BEHIND THE NUMBER A total is an assertion. The log is the evidence, and MileClaim exports the whole of it - not a summary: - One dated row per drive: where you went, why, the miles, and what they are worth - Your Schedule C Part IV page alongside it - Every row marked with whether the app measured that distance or you supplied it - The rates used, and when they were last checked against irs.gov - PDF to keep, CSV to hand your preparer A working year runs to a few hundred rows. It is the part nobody wants to type out by hand in April. IT NEVER INVENTS A MILE Every distance check errs toward under-counting. GPS jumps contribute nothing. Imprecise fixes are discarded. A drive you have not classified is reported as outstanding rather than guessed at - because a log that guesses stops being evidence. Anything the detector misses, you can add by hand, and the export says which distances were measured and which you supplied. FREE FOREVER Recording, classifying and correcting drives are free and unlimited, and so are your mileage totals and your deduction figure. One optional purchase unlocks the Schedule C Part IV lines and CSV and PDF export. No subscription, ever. OFF UNTIL YOU ASK - Route maps and address lookup, which send coordinates to Apple only while you use them - Sync through your own iCloud account - your storage, not ours The one thing switched on out of the box is a check against the published IRS rates page. It sends nothing about you: no trips, no coordinates, no identifier. You can turn it off, and the built-in rates still apply. SIRI AND THE LOCK SCREEN Classify your last drive by voice, or straight from the Live Activity after you park. Classification is free and always will be.
