Controls?

This is absolutely the worst port I have ever seen. The controls don’t make any sense, are completely non intuitive, no user’s guide. Just an absolute mess. And I’m out five bucks. Here’s a better use for your money: take five ones and jump in your car and head out to the local highway. Get your car up to the speed limit and roll down the window. Now toss your money out the window. Same effect as buying this game.

Disappearing eq

Equipment randomly disappears after level 25. Just logged on and i am in a dungeon with half my spellboojs and inventory gone. It keeps happening.

You may "save all to external media" from the main menu to create a backup. These save files are available via finder when connected to a desktop, please email moria@rufe.org with a copy of your save file.

An exemplar of touchscreen classic roguelikes

I love how closely this sticks to umoria. How do I shoot my bow? How do I close doors? I found most other things at the app’s page at rufe.org.

Thanks for reaching out via email. For others' sake: "Door spikes" replace umoria "iron spikes." Activate arrows in your inventory to receive a directional prompt, if a bow is wielded a bonus is applied when the projectile is fired.

Before Final Fantasy we had this 😂 I was so overjoyed to see that it was converted to iOS.

Pro Tip: Hold the center movement pad space + green button to repeat actions. Carpal tunnel is the real End Boss of this game.

Best traditional rogue on ios

I just want to say never stop updating this. This is literally peak ios gaming it has no ads and no in app purchases and a good price for how fun it is. An absolute banger. Oh also, only 2.1 mb.

I’ve now lost five straight characters to the same glitch that kills the app, freezing it and causing me to have to delete it, reload, and start over building a new character from scratch. No mote. I’m done.

Frozen. Out.

We rely on user reports because we made an offline (in every way!) game. Please email us moria@rufe.org with your device and any details you can provide. See also: https://rufe.org/moria/storage.html Delete moria.cache if the application does not start immediately. (game should resume to your last play session in under 1 second). Use the export feature to make back-ups of your characters, and even copy these to your desktop via Finder. (Bug fixed on august 30th 2024)

A Joy to play

This was one of the first games I ever played. Was introduced to it on a Vax/Vms system at college in 1986. Never expected to be playing this game again, and certainly not on an Ipad/iphone. What a joy, especially for such a simple interface (imagination powered)! It is as frustrating and heart pounding an adventure as i remember it. Thank you for porting this. Appreciate also the character recovery feature. It’s been a Joy to play.

Love the adaptation. Wondering if mechanics to shoot bows and etc. can be added as that seems the be missing

Love in a jar.

Love this elegant reversioning of an old favorite.
The GUI is fantastic and the enhancements to game flow are deft.
No rail booze, this.

I appreciate your work!

I love that some variant of moria has made it to my iphone. I played it in a sony clie many years ago and loved it. Shamefully i did "save scum" (overwrite save file for better chest drops).

The game mechanics seem good so far. From an old head, lose the color directionals and inputs. Maybe pixelated outline of computer keyboard keys? Putting the ascii back into it as a graphical option is a must @.
Also, i wasnt sure where to see my current health. maybe a very small block of pixels somewhere on the screen corner?

Please keep it up and Hope to see this game bloom into moria on an iphone device.

Scratches that D&D roguelike itch

Loving this so far. If there were one thing I’d change, I’d make the game manual (which is in the game’s store page) available in the game itself. If you go into the game without reading the manual, you’ll die very quickly.
